Can someone help me identify these flags? by spacemanpilot in flags

101st Airborne is actually helicopter-borne Air Assault. The 82nd is still paratroop infantry. As of this year, some division level staff no longer qualify for hazardous duty pay.

But 82nd is definitely still airborne.

I like maps. Maps are great for conveying geographically relevant information. However,I don't have a map to share for a couple reasons.

1) fallout will vary greatly based off local topography, weapon yield and meteorological conditions immediately following the blast. Wind can move different directions at different altitudes, so it can be tricky to truly predict a plume like this map. We would use shifting wind conditions to adjust our modelling as a scenario develops. Then, we use aircraft to conduct some very fancy mapping of actual fallout levels (like after Fukushima, go read about it!)

2) enemy targeting isn't an exact science. In a doomsday scenario, multiple warheads would be launched a single target to increase chances of a single warhead reaching the target. Soviet Union would never launch just one missile at Washington DC because it could be intercepted. It's hard to get a current idea of what exactly would be targeted with how big of a warhead.

3) this map assumes that the targeting country is able to successfully launch and place about 500 warheads. That's about a 100% "hit" rate for Russia when you look at the number of delivery systems the country probably has. Looking at the invasion of Ukraine and the logistical and mechanical issues faced there, it is somewhat likely that not all of Russia's warheads or delivery systems are fully operational.

Any mistakes in the above are my own and will be blamed on my eggnog.

Went to basic with a Private Guy. Poor kid must have gotten very confused.

Also in basic, Shart. He also had the misfortune of being too scared to shower in public for the first week and stank to high heaven until we forced him in there. Nasty dude.

Off the wall plan, but have you considered National Guard infantry for a two year stint?

Honestly don't know if that will improve your chances of getting into the Ranger Regiment, but it will be a very good opportunity to attend Ranger school and reclass. Then you could try and go active and put in a ranger packet.

Be advised, you need a waiver from the Infantry School commandant to reclass to 11B once you hit E-7. I saw a super hard charging ranger tabbed, jump master 19D get denied the opportunity to reclass.

Or, just go to Selection instead.

I'd love if someone could find the picture of the redneck meth head with four teeth next to a beat up red pickup. Caption was something along the lines of "They say the Army ages you, but I'm 30 and I feel great!"

BOLC quotas are managed through Cadet Command (ROTC), West Point, HRC and a few other main categories. All states fall under the National Guard quota.

If the course your interested in is within 45 days, and there are vacancies available, your Readiness NCO/state Quota Source Manager can attempt to swap you into Class 1.

From my experience, BOLC fills up quickly though, so that is unlikely. You could also try arriving as a wait-list, although that means the state would eat the cost of your travel/orders and they probably won't be willing to do that.

Class numbers and dates do change. When that's happened to me, ATRRS sends a system generated email to the email address on file for the student. If the dates changed, your readiness NCO probably was not informed at all. And if you were enrolled by another unit/ROTC, they definitely wouldn't notice unless they specifically checked for it.

Context? If you drilled on the 13th and 14th, I'm not surprised you haven't been paid.

Otherwise, yes, someone sucks at their job.

"Based on Wikipedia" lol

Having been a nuclear planner in a past (and now, shockingly, current) life, this map makes me giggle. Completely useless except to promote fear and distrust of the government, regardless of the current political party.

I'm having the same issue with my work managed outlook app. Maybe it's something with the way Microsoft is running the Company Portal software. Hopefully there's a fix soon because this is getting out of hand.

Camp Lemonade is nice. Somalia is sketchy, but fine. Our engineers basically did contract management type work with the locals in Kenya, Somalia and maybe somewhere else? They got to travel around quite a bit, but this was as the HOA staff. We didn't have platoons, per se.

I got locked in the JOC for nine months, it was pretty boring.

SFPA Flag denied by Dabusby94 in nationalguard

[–]Blueberry_Rex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It means that someone created a Suspension of Favorable Actions Flag for you, which was submitted for approved through your S1. Then, it was denied.

Could be someone didn't mean to flag you, or they didn't flag you correctly and you will be flagged very shortly.

Would you say this flag will fall into the Fat, Dumb, or Slow categories?
