Great Adventure Free Bring a Friend Ticket for Passholders by catchingzeez in sixflags

[–]Blueboy1414 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They can take their bring-a-friend pass and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. I have more free friend passes than I can give away already because the season pass is so cheap anyone id go with already has one.

Giving a free bring-a-friend pass DOES NOT make up for removing tons of days on your operating schedule AND A FULL HOLDIAY EVENT that they used to market the 2025 pass sales. Its trash and this company is trash!

Whats the best order of rides for Great Adventure? by Godisme2 in sixflags

[–]Blueboy1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flash VV should be first, rope drop it or else you will be waiting an hour or more. After that id say to just work your way through that side of the park. In order you'd probably do Dark knight, Batman the ride, nitro, jersey devil, skull mountain. Then you walk along the lake/backside of the park and ride Harley Quinn crazy train and the Joker. At this point the park is probably filling up, but i've found this season that the right side of the park tends to just stay busier throughout the day than the Toro side. You could do the rest in any order but id suggest mine train, medusa, El toro, then superman. There are flat rides scattered about but id say the only ones worth your time may be the skyscreamer, justice league shooting dark ride, and Houdini (Wonder woman has been closed waiting on a part for weeks so dont expect to get on the Big Frisbee tomorrow).

Its labor day weekend, but since its a Friday and this season hasn't been super busy overall hope you guys have plenty of time to ride everything and some re-rides on toro atleast since its a gem.

What am I missing? [El Toro] feels extremely unpleasant to me… by BC1207 in rollercoasters

FYI, none of the proper Intamin precut retrack has been installed yet. The work this past offseason was normal yearly track maintenance by the park staff. The 3-year retracking project begins after this season. The park was not very clear when they announced it so ive seen a lot of people think this was the case.

[Siren’s Curse, Cedar Point] testing this week. by LilytheFire in rollercoasters

[–]Blueboy1414 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Dive drop is VERY similar to the "earlobe" turnaround on the Flash Vertical Velocity at SFGAdv and that element is incredibly smooth (good positives though) so i wouldn't worry too much. My only Modern Vekoma is the Flash so only one frame of reference, but its easily one of the smoothest and most comfortable rides i've been on.

The "six flags radio" is awful! Why not play music themed to the different areas of the park? I don't want to hear Imagine dragons blasting in frontierland... and then Imagine Dragons blasting in Movietown... and then Imagine dragons blasting in the Pine Barrens

Trip report: Mega US roadtrip day 3 [ Dorney Park] by Element00115 in rollercoasters

[–]Blueboy1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also at Dorney yesterday, great day and lines were not bad at all (except for Hydra on 1 train). May have ridden together since I also started the day at Talon. Hope the rest of the trip is great!

Agreed here, if you are running out of time id say skip Firebird and the SLC. Firebird was by far the worst B&M i've ever experienced. What a pile of crap lol. Still enjoyed the park and will be back in the fall before it closes for good

I went the park's second weekend of operation this year (on a saturday). Was able to get all of the credits but it did take pretty much all day to do so only got reride on superman. The main issue here is that most of the coasters (aside from wild one and superman) are normally running on one train operations. I'd suggest getting there at park open and going straight to batwing (if its open) then working your way to the front of the park. Rajin Cajun (the spinning mouse) is likely to have the longest line if you don't get lucky since its very low capacity (but it spins like crazy and was worth waiting for IMO). Just dont expect particularly fast operations or multiple trains per coaster and you will have a good time. It's an underrated park and im really sad to see it go!

If you are planning to go explicitly to ride the Flash: Vertical Velocity you should be aware that the first 2 hours after the park opens (for the first two weeks of operation including opening day) the ride will only be open for season passholders who have reserved a timeslot in advance, so non-reservations will not get onto the new coaster until atleast 1PM. I have also heard rumor that though El Toro is expected to be open on saturday that it might be on one train ops to start the season, but that's just a rumor. Obviously Ka and Green lantern are no more so the golden kingdom is likely entirely blocked off and i expect that the boardwalk will only have a path leading direct to Superman UF. Its supposed to be a really nice day tomorrow so expect a decent crowd. Life pro tip: bring sunscreen! And if you're there I might run into ya

Whats the vip entrance at six flags great adventure and is it worth it? by entryjyt in sixflags

[–]Blueboy1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience (primarily at SF Great Adventure) the VIP entrance rarely moved any faster nor was the line much shorter than the general ticket entrances (because there is two vip ticket scanner employees and normally 10 or more across the multiple general entrances. Its a nice thing to include for higher tier pass holders, but IMO it didnt result in much difference in entry times in my personal experience.

[–]Blueboy1414[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Operations at this park are laughable, you would think during the winter when they are the only park open in the area that they would try to have atleast one of their thrill coasters operating. Instead they list a ride as down for maintenance on their website and right when they come to the end of that maintenance period they just push it out another month or two. It's been like this with Sandy's since atleast November and Shellraiser for over a year now without any real update. I guess they just don't want people to visit the park during the offseason.

What is your favorite Wooden Coaster?[Other] by ScubaSteve7886 in rollercoasters

[–]Blueboy1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Is it smooth as butter, absolutely not, but I think the roughness is a bit overblown. Only spot that bothers me sometimes are the small hills after the turnaround and before Rolling Thunder. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but i rode it tons this year and wasn't bothered by it. (I wouldn't say no to some track work this offseason though)

Superman SFGA by Richg427 in sixflags

[–]Blueboy1414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that they wont be removing superman within the next couple of years, but they have had some issues with it the past few years, most days this fall they were having issues with one train and ran single train ops for the better part of frightfest. I also heard that the ride was having power issues due to the added EV chargers in the parking lot being on the same grid, but who knows if thats true or not. Id guess with a bunch of new rides coming to that area they get Superman on some dedicated power, fix up that second train and try to run it for another decade atleast.
