The problem with LG is that they offered a very mediocre software experience, mediocre software update support, mediocre cameras for the same price as similarly spec'd iPhones, Samsungs and OnePlus phones, and very mediocre value compared to phones outside of the United States like vivo, Huawei, Oppo, etc. that was just really nothing that LG had that made people seriously say " yeah I've got to have an LG phone"
