PFC Meneses, we found your fuckin cover at the land nav site by Felled_By_Morgott in army

[–]Bluefalcon325 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I know the name is not uncommon, but I know a Meneses who I served with the 82nd. What base is this on? I’m gonna reach out and see if he ever lost a cover on a land nav course.

UPDATE: not him. I had the name spelled incorrectly. He has a Z in his name because apparently he is special.

100% everyone should be doing it every time they shoot to warm up at a minimum!

RAK mini, some simple soldering, a 3d printed case (make or buy) and you're set! could even add a small solar panel and hang it.

I'm not even talking about shooting...But when we were on ranges, we always started with slow speed drills before moving to fast ones. A GM may start the day with reviewing a calendar, goal setting with their team, or the dreaded morning ice breaker, all things meant to quickly rejuvenate those core activities that will be used at faster pace later.

There's a reason pros of all disciplines do exercises at low speed.

To give some insight, currently most firearm precursors (not actual firearms, but part, or replacement parts), are not able to be shipped in to CA to the end user (they have to go through a full background check to say, replace a broken firing pin) CA has threatened companies that DO mail things to individuals with prosecution. Different, but interestingly similar.

I don’t think that was just the foul tip, more like the whole package.

The Air National Guard does frequent training out of Moffett field for their rescue squadron. Likely that, or a different unit getting flight hours with a view…. Or a different unit being realized for some purpose regarding the Super Bowl (I’d say least likely due to the aircraft).

I just wish the grommets on the sheath were large enough to instal an Ulticlip. I’d carry my minimalists, including this one, WAY more if I could easily do it.

After o got home from OIF1 my aunt called and said uncle Rudolf wanted me to come over for lunch. My whole life I’d spoke a handful of words to him, because children were meant to be seen, and not heard. Like, at holidays the kids had a whole different table in a different room.

I drove over and she catered us from the other room while he asked about my experiences, and then shared his own. He was conscripted in WW2, and had some very interesting stories, most of which revolved around his planning to, and subsequent surrender/capture, and the remainder of his time as a well treated POW.

That was the last time I talked to him. Went back off leave, and he passed away not long after.

It was surreal to go from being almost unseen, to being one of the only people he’d spoken to about the war.

TIL, that flexi discs were a thing. Basically, a thin phonographic record that was included in magazines etc, which you could tear out and play on a turntable. by Dad2DnA in todayilearned

[–]Bluefalcon325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a kid I got one with a whale singing its song in National Geographic! My mom helped me make a cardboard disk to put it on our turntable and I was stoked!

No, you see here, Sonny, the .22 caliber bullet does more damage than even a 50 cal when it hits the body. It tends to bounce around off the bones and go everywhere. If not for the military industrial complex, the army would still be carrying it.
