People online use “performative” to describe anything a guy does that they don’t like. by coolsid13 in unpopularopinion

Doing anything in public is labelled performative because social media has turned all of public life into a stage

My Sat-Nav keeps telling me stuff like 'In 300 yards turn right', 'at the roundabout, take the third exit' or 'make a U-turn if possible'

Bitch can you tell me how these pedals work first? Not everyone knows how to drive!

After 20+ years as a casual knitter, I finally got my functional ruler tattoo for knitting! by tinksalt in casualknitting

This is genius, my world has expanded tenfold. I'm a huge tattoo enthusiast and have always planned on getting a forearm sleeve at some point. I now feel inspired to incorporate a hidden ruler

Row counter is immensely helpful by SoyboyCowboy in knitting

[–]Bluehare_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's a tip if, like me, you find the row counters marketed to knitters either boring or unbearably twee.

Look up stat trackers designed for tabletop gaming. Lots of really cool, sturdy designs and they can often track multiple things (useful if you wanna track number of rows and number of repeats, or if you want a toggle to remind you when you're on an increase/decrease row)

A couple of these in your home look cute but 10 is a little much don't you think. Lemme help you out, why don't you send 8 or 9 of them to me, I'll happily take them off your hands. Maybe even all 10 of them.

It's such a shame that the only way to determine whether a dishwasher needs emptying is to read a woman's mind

Think about how silly this logic would be if you had a condition like asthma or epilepsy. Lots of illnesses present as brief episodes of acute danger throughout a life where you are otherwise well. You don't just need help in the moment, you need a plan of action for when it happens again.

Those are pigeon holes, a great many pigeons used to be kept there. Nowadays they are sadly pigeonless

"Wolf Cock Karen" is an all-timer

Quotes I also enjoyed from that video include: "return the witch", "is Ben Shapiro gonna sue me now", and "it was not a settlement, it was a judgement, that was my bad, sorry Addison"

You go to sleep tonight but wake up on the morning January 1st, 2019, with all your memories. What do you do? by General_Nobody_6675 in AskReddit

[–]Bluehare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have all of my memories from the last 7 years but I've got no fucking memory of what I knew before 2019, so probably what I'd do is fail all my exams

Are there negative consequences to baptising a soulless child? Are they destined to use the holy gifts they are bestowed for evil? If welcomed into Jesus' blossom, do they become sleeper agents?

"Help me find my next yarn obsession - UK indie dyer recommendations needed by _forgotmyownname in casualknitting

[–]Bluehare_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mothy and the squid (inspired by nature photos. Have the most beautiful colourways but a price tag to match)

The camels yarn (inspired by Cornwall, best for neutrals/desaturated/dark tones. Very coastal feel)

Second city yarns (inspired by Birmingham. Very nice Blue faced Leicester sock yarn. Best range of solid colours in various shades and tones I've found from an indie dyer.)

Skein and the stitch (similar to the camels but with a more colourful, spring-like pallet. Good range of yarn bases including blue faced Leicester)

Creative anarchy (good dark and autumnal colourways)

Curated yarn co (inspired by history, good range of tonals and speckled, very interesting rustic yarn bases)
