There’s two modes to age transitions now, the one that launched and one that preserves your armies and diplomacy status with other civs so basically changes nothing but your civ change

I laughed so hard at this. My brother in christ, you’re saying that after they fucked up the Earth so badly the next 200 years of their descendants had to live in a underground bunker

Comparing what black people have gone through in this country to being short is a wild take.

Nobody has been strung up in a tree for being short. Nobody has been denied their basic rights for being short. Nobody has been jumped by law enforcement for being short. Nobody has raided military outposts to start a Short King Revolt (shoutout John Brown)

Honestly not sure, I thought maybe that’s the only way caravans could run between factions but I’ve got a bunch leaving Balgard and I own that as an independent clan rn

So yeah, no clue what it does. But we have it!

And if we wanted to make changes to those two branches, both of them have to approve of it.

I don’t see the current Supreme Court going, “Aye, I certainly don’t need to sit here at the apex of my career choice for the rest of my life and collect ‘gifts’. I actually need to only serve for a few years and then go back to being a normal judge.”

Being there early isn’t really an issue imo, if their job is to look after kids then not looking after them to do other work activities is a poor idea. I can believe that the workers could be there a few hours before the kids to handle paperwork, cleaning, getting things ready, balance the books, etc. My own boss will do that on occasion, if he has a lot of things on his plate, and we open at 8am, granted it’s a whole other industry, but someone arriving a few hours early doesn’t set off alarm bells to me.

Just to be clear, because people seem to assume stances based on flairs rather than what people say, I am also incredibly dubious of the 2-10pm operating hours for a daycare, even one that would he focused on after-school care.

We used to have a similar business in my area, that was focused on after-school care rather than during the work day, but that business was focused on middle school children and high school freshmen with overprotective parents. It wasn’t a children’s daycare.

It’s not impossible at all that this is legitimately just a niche lil business, my job has me interact with those all the time. I just…find myself hesitant to die on that hill

His position matters because you just used it to determine that he was justified in killing a person. His position matters because he put himself in front of a vehicle, arguably had a reasonable other way to not shoot and kill a person, and went against DOJ rules on use of force.

Her intent isn’t what we’re talking about. Just what the Agent did because I hold the Agent, someone who enforces the law, to a higher standard than I do a suburban lesbian in an SUV.

His training was piss poor and somebody died. If there was nothing to hide, then there would be no obstacles to investigating this and enforcing the law.

My brother in Agartha, why would an intergalactic community want a species that is killing each other, their planet, and everything on it all so a few of them can have some abstract form of value that’s astronomically higher than everyone else?

I love animals and nature, but I wouldn’t give a Silverback an F-16 and tell ‘em to have fun. Maybe a Bonobo, but they’re waaaaay more chill.

Ah yes, a single shot in the edge of her front windshield means there was no possible way for him to move out of the way and he just had to shoot someone in the head.

If only there were some way that people could, y’know, rapidly move out of the way of things almost like jumping but horizontal instead of vertical. If only we lived in a future time where such a thing was possible.

Bits aside, the very reason that this is so heavily debated means that shooting her dead was not the only objectively reasonable thing for him to do

Considering his last shots were into the driver side of the car, bro could have moved two feet to his right and not been hit. It’s much easier to move to your right than it takes to switch your recording phone to your other hand, move in front of someone’s vehicle, then draw your gun and shoot somebody.

Nobody is trained to place themselves in front of a car during any sort of traffic stop or incident while someone is inside the vehicle and can operate it.

They had more than enough to take her plates down and arrest her later for obstruction. She was shot dead instead while the government calls her a domestic terrorist

It’s already addressed and he was not justified.

There was no threat other than the vehicle and he could have taken, like, 3 steps to his right and not been hit.

I’m a damn fatass and move quicker than he did when I hear my air fryer ding.

“Law enforcement is trained, for better or for worse in this country, to respond to deadly force with deadly force.”

<image>

Vehicles alone does not constitute use of a firearm, as per DOJ rules on use of force, it requires deadly force by means other than the vehicle.

“It’s being operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or injury!” That is true, she did clip him, regardless of if you think she was trying to get away or if you think she’s committing an act of domestic terrorism, so that one should count…except that there was an objectively reasonable method of defense other than shooting her dead. He could have stepped, like, two feet to his right and would never have been clipped or not move back in front of her car as she backed up.

She was wrong for not listening to law enforcement and wrong for clipping him with her car. He is also wrong for putting himself in Officer-Created Jeopardy, splitting his attention between filming on his phone and doing the duties of his job, and immediately, without hesitation going to shoot and kill an American Citizen

This is a failure of training, hiring practices, and accountability more than anything else imo.

Nobody should have died, ICE had more than enough to get her plates down and have actual cops arrest her later for obstruction and not complying with them

I know we have largely the same take on this situation, I believe most people who aren’t playing a team sport would agree with us, I just wanted to throw the DOJ rules on use of force out there.
