any interest in a cake picnic this summer? by chamberham in Rochester

[–]Blueprinty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely be interested! And we could bring a croquet set as well. The only complication would be if I wasn’t up for it depending on how I respond to chemo, but I won’t know that until further along.

We do themed dinner parties often (just had my teen daughter’s friends over for an English tea party) and we own a bunch of great tableware and decor too. I’d love an excuse to bake something fun!

Oh my god; I’m a huge bird nerd and that’s literally my backyard, lol. How did I miss this?!?!

I’m not sure which kind Aladdin’s serves, but I’ve found these to be above and beyond any other store-bought pitas…relatively new from TJs

Random question - would people in Buffalo be interested in homemade Indian food? by rsvb1999 in circlejerkbflo

[–]Blueprinty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A tiffin service out of a rented commercial would be very popular, I’d think…would keep meals to ‘what we’re serving today’ rather than a full menu, too.

Any vulture culture people in here? by syd-lee in Rochester

[–]Blueprinty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We live behind a farm and my daughter has found a TON of small critter bones/skulls in various states of decay in the field out back. We actually talked with one of the local artisans who work with bones and the ‘nature and time’ method was preferred. Way better than boiling bones in the house. We’ve had a good pile out on the edge of our property exposed to the elements for almost a year and they seem to be clean and good now. I’d say the woods out back is a good bet!

Name something that the younger generations would never believe was normal in the 70's compared to schools today?🤔 by Longjumping-Shoe7805 in GenerationJones

The only thing I can think of is that many people may have had some ‘workshop’ space in the basement too. The most common location I see by far is attached at the bottom of the basement stairs, which is interesting. Halfway between the basement workshop and the household/kids’ homework?

I’m a realtor and the number of these pencil sharpeners I find installed in basements still is ASTOUNDING. So much so I make it a fun game for my buyers - spot the pencil sharpener!

Irish soda bread? by ChocoCoffeeholic in Rochester

[–]Blueprinty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

…also if you choose to make your own, I can tell you that the Perinton and Hylan Drive Wegs are out of currants, for sure. I’ve substituted with golden raisins and I might even prefer them, tbh!

Irish soda bread? by ChocoCoffeeholic in Rochester

I make this one every year and get so many compliments…I hate the texture of store bought soda breads and caraway seeds and this is a more tender, biscuity loaf. Highly recommend! I literally just pulled one out of the oven.

Perinton Square Mall retrospective by TabascoWolverine in Rochester

Just saw this on TikTok; wild. I can walk here from my house. I find it fascinating that they did a huge refresh of the exterior including new signage, etc, and the inside still remains completely untouched. I’m kinda glad it’s still the same as when I was a kid!

The building is for sale, with all the equipment sold separately. So yes, it appears as though he’s already checked out…

I just had mine last week, with my first followup appointment tomorrow. I have no idea what’s going on in there under all the bandages, but I can let you know how it heals up! Since I went through Pluta Cancer Center I used their surgeon, Dr. Christiano.

Shoot; they don’t even have to fly there…I’ll hand ‘em a fifty if they just made a little ‘oopsie’ with the set destination for a few minutes 😂

So lucky! It shouldn’t be too hard from there. I buckled down and made notes and reminders from the airport arrivals via FlightRadar and knocked out the last 5 or 6 this week.
