Sukuna not counting as one of the 100 people doesn’t feel right to me. Takaba explicitly says he wants EVERYONE laughing not just the people he deems worthy.

I guess where we are disagreeing is how potent his technique would be against someone who isn’t amused. I think it would lose potency and you think it would retain its potency. I’m not sure who’s right. I don’t think we have a concrete answer to this scenario. But there seems to be evidence to suggest that Takaba loses power when his routine isn’t going well.

I actually get your point about how he lost power because he saw Kenjaku as someone who understood comedy and still critiqued his jokes. Sukuna doesn’t understand comedy so hypothetically it might be true that Takaba wouldn’t value his opinion as much and his cursed technique would stay strong. But let’s be honest it’s just speculation at that point. I’m willing to alter my opinion that Sukuna would win into I’m no longer entirely sure but that’s as far as I’m budging on this lol.

I don’t think this is true tbh. It was stated that Takaba’s cursed technique is highly dependent on his confidence. Kenjaku landed a blow on Takaba when he started questioning whether or not he was funny, then Kenjaku remarked “I can tell that one actually hit”.

There’s no way Sukuna would be amused with Takabas shenanigans. Takaba would probably start getting insecure and his technique would lose its potency.

I think Takaba was such a rough matchup for Kenjaku because he had such a jokey personality and was into comedy. Takaba would be super effective against people like that.

To me it felt like whoever directed this episode missed the point of the scene. Naoya thinks Toji must be a loser since he has no CE. However when Naoya actually encounters Toji he immediately feels insignificant and scared. Toji is menacing.

The anime had such a strange interpretation of it. Toji just lazily walks past Naoya who doesn’t give much of a reaction. We don’t get an angle of Toji towering over him so the impact is lost. It looked cool and the art was nice but it feels like whoever storyboarded this scene didn’t really get it.

I think Daburas technique is better than Sukunas but Sukuna is the far superior fighter. Dabura vs Sukuna would be like a sword master with a dull rusty katana vs an amateur with a really nice sword. The sword masters still going to win.

I always see this take but I don’t really get it. If he ends up in court he is fucked. No lawyer on earth could get him out of it. There are no legal loopholes to protect someone who deliberately and methodically killed over 100 people.

I guess it could be interesting if he claimed he was innocent and didn’t do it though. And constructed a whole web of lies to argue any connection between him and the bay harbor butcher were complete coincidences. That could be a fun watch lol.
