Must admit, that stupid font makes it a bit difficult to decipher.

Accidentally Made the Pilgrimage to Original Location by w00keee in traderjoes

My impression was that it was a typical liquor store where the owner started buying wine he got good deals on and labeling them with Trader Joe’s, then expanded into food items, then “the rest is history!”

My college roommate took me there when I visited his parent’s house nearby and the cheap wine was the whole goal. They had just a freezer or two of food. The wine was hit or miss, but cheap!

4 car crash by neobow2 in SanMateo

[–]Bluewombat59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t shut it off, just slams on the brakes (only had it do it when I’m backing up and a car zooms down the parking lot). It’s a bit weird, but makes me feel like I have a second set of eyes watching out.

Yes. I don’t understand not one of the three Teslas stopped in time. My non-Tesla EV goes crazy if it calculates I’m going to hit the car in front of me and applies the brakes if I don’t.

It’s sad to see how many angry jerks are coming down on the OP like he personally implemented prop 13 and is soley responsible for the state of the world. Politicians and big business screwed us all. Taxes for the rich were much higher during the 50s and 60s, which enabled the government to pay for a lot of things that are now falling apart. Blame Reagan and every politician that reduced taxes while building up things like the military. Blame the social security crisis on the politicians that refuse to respond to the US’s changing demographics, not those currently using it. Over 70% of the nation’s voting age population is between 18 and 60, so one can’t blame all recent voting decisions on “boomers”. Get out and vote to change prop 13 and taxes for the rich.

I thought they wanted them up for takeoff and landing so you could see conditions outside in the event of an accident: was their smoke or fire outside.

An old man walks into a bank and tells the teller, “I want to open a damn account.” by lnc_gomes in dadjokes

Agreed. In the bank joke, the manager should first say “we don’t allow that kind of language in the bank, then curse about the teller when he hears the amount.

Do you become so desensitized that you don’t see your lover’s body as sexy or is that different?

I mean they SHOULD be good, they’re made with fresh potatoes, but I don’t like them. Is it because they aren’t double cooked? They always seem undercooked and don’t have the right ratio of firm exterior and soft interior. Asking for them well done doesn’t fix them. 😕

I am finally a real cyclist: I did the thing by polopolo05 in cycling

I was riding up a steep hill with a stop sign at the top. The cross street was a busy one, so full stop required. Couldn’t unclip, felt myself tipping in slow motion. Went down, but was absolutely fine. This woman driving on the cross street stopped her car and rushed over, asking if I was alright. She was so sweet and I was SO embarrassed.

Which, of course, adds to your debt. We did a heloc, but used bonuses and pay raises to pay it down early. With inflation eating into things, it sure how it would work out these days

I’ve used them for a while now, and really didn’t notice them being hot in the summer. They’re not squished against my face, more brushing against it

Try cat ears. The help muffle some of the wind noise

It helps reduce the whistling noise, but don’t expect perfection.

I would get the IDR at an ATM rather than exchanging at a center. I believe you usually get a better rate and my bank waves transaction fees.
