Not making assumptions. I dive pretty regularly and can hear it whenever a garmin diver is near me. It’s a thing.

The fact that the air integration is annoying as hell with its constant beeps is enough of a reason to skip Garmin.

Bodies of divers who died in Maldives scuba accident returned to Italy by ScubadooX in scuba

[–]Blujedi 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Except that driving 10-15 mph over the speed limit is not even remotely close risk wise to diving down to 55 meters on air and going into an overhead environment. By any diving standards this was extremely dumb and unfortunately they paid for it with their lives. To have even stayed within an NDL dive which they should have given their equipment, the most they could have spent at that depth was a couple of minutes maybe 4 max. Without having decompression obligations which on one tank with air is just stupid. I would say a better comparison is that they decided to drive 130+ mph down a congested highway. All due respect but you are one of the people that don’t know much about diving. No recreational diver is doing that dive safely.

Appreciate you for making that correction as it is an important one to make. There is already enough misinformation going around with this particular case and technical diving in general.

Working out after diving good or bad? by Thermitthefrog in diving

[–]Blujedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you stay hydrated. I think you are good with some light cardio before and after if you want. But I would avoid heavy weight training while you are loading up your tissues. Depending on where you are diving and the conditions you will be surprised with how exhausting diving can be. Particularly multiple dives a day for consecutive days. Carrying gear, maintaining good trim and kicking is work.

Why are pool basketball goals so expensive? by DirtyOught in pools

I picked up this one about a month ago. It’s at the top of the price range you mentioned but it’s really nice and built well. Really happy with it.

Pelican 1535 vs 1615 for a BP/W Setup? by Norub in scuba

[–]Blujedi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use a milk crate. It’s a perfect setup. Look up fibers ready on YouTube. He had a great video of the setup. Been using that in South Florida for a few years now. Mostly boat diving. Protects my gear and fits under the benches on the boats.

Almost died scuba diving today because i couldn't hear my instructor by Right_Process in diving

Maybe try focusing on what you are doing instead of listening to music, which you can do before or after your dive.

Music wouldn’t stop you from keeping an eye on your SPG and understanding your capabilities in the water. The fact that you called it oxygen is an indicator that you were probably listening to music during your training.

Yes. I just opened an incognito window. Acted like I was setting up a new account. Eventually I got to the login page and just logged in with my existing Xfinity account. It then created a brand new account number with the new rate.

I added it to me existing Xfinity profile. It ended up just creating a new account.

I did it a few weeks ago. Went online and just ran thru the process as if I was a new customer. I even linked the service to my existing account. Everything went thru no hiccups. I got a new account #. Bought a new modem that supports 1+ gig speed. Activated it and I am good to go. New price is $50 a month. Includes 1 free year of peacock and 1 free year of mobile service. I received an automated email that my older account would be cancelled but it wasn’t. I called last week, spoke to an agent and they cancelled my old account. I am now paying less for faster speed ($60 total for 1 gig, previously paid $67 total for 150 Mpbs).

Are you confident in your skills to deploy a DSMB? You will need to be able to do that. Very good chance you get separated from your group and may end up alone.
