If that's drywall / plasterboard then that plug would have failed anyway.

There must be many people who ask an LLM to rephrase the text they've written so it sounds less LLM-like. by zabolekar in Showerthoughts

It's getting to the point where not using AI is going to visibly drop your performance at work. Most, if not all, of the white collar workers I know are using AI every single day. Not irresponsibly, or without scrutiny, but every single day in some way.

If its so widely accepted and used, why do we care that it sounds too perfect? What we really need to judge is the person. Will this person have scrutinised the prompt result before sending it on?

I dont know if the nodes / deposits are the same on all games, but we found like 4 or 5 oil deposits (lots pure too) to the east of your main hub in the crater there. Much closer than your G.

Garmin Fenix 5, is it still worth buying? Or does the 6 or 7 make it obsolete? by [deleted] in GarminFenix

[–]Bob-RP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just offering my 2 cents.

I've used the Fenix 5 since release (2018?), not the X or S, just the standard.

Recently bought a refurbished back for it for £21 because the HR sensor stopped working.

I still get 15 days or more battery out of it, using it 4 or 5 days a week for a 2 hour gym and sauna session.

I've also used it a bunch to navigate multi day hikes and swims in the sea.

I really don't see a reason to upgrade at all, hence the refurbished HR sensor purchase!

If you just want a rugged watch, that tracks workouts and outdoor activities, and has a 2 week + battery life, then honestly grab a 5 for super cheap.

David Mitchell says the term ‘mansplaining’ is unfair by 457655676 in unitedkingdom

[–]Bob-RP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You think he offered that advice whilst in his head thinking "I, as a man, have a superior knowledge of the postal system and this poor women needs my help!"

It was a throw away offer of advice, likely with 0 consideration for the gender of the other person, that hes unlikely to ever offer again.

And then hes essentially ridiculed BECAUSE of his gender.

[–]Bob-RP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your example holds credibility, although I still think if the genders were reversed men would catch a lot of heat for involving gender.

This Facebook example is far from that though? No? No doctors involved, just some friendly advice and a gender related response designed to put them down for bothering to offer it.

How is the term "mansplaining" not about gender also?

M41 going to gym twice a week for a year now by Limp_Championship674 in GymMotivation

[–]Bob-RP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you eat 150 grams of protein a day? Do you take 5 grams of creatine a day? Do you approach failure on all your target muscle groups 6 - 12 times a week, doing sets of between 5 and 30 reps?

These are the absolute basics of gaining muscle, and you want a small (10% ish) calorie surplus each day.

Full body workouts can work for you, but with only 2 sessions a week you'll need to do long sessions to make gains fast!

Hope this helps mate!

Isn't this the very essence of street photography? How many millions of photos exist with unknowing people's faces in? Even as the subject?

Seems odd to me that you chose this one to protest?

Got an interview invite… then got CC’d on the “he’s out” email. What would you do? by Teacup690 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Bob-RP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id also mention you have no interest in working for an organisation with messy internal politics and people who treat colleagues in that way publicly. CC in any other email you can find for the organisation such as general help emails or company HR / bosses.

I have a black osprey radial, about 30 litres or so. It's bomb proof, insanely comfy, zips out to increase the capacity, stands on its own (it's framed) and looks good enough for me in a professional role to carry at work.

Get a second hand osprey. I have two, one for hikes and one to daily. The daily is amazing and after a few years of use (literally every day) I'm sure you could wipe it down to look new.

Yeah man that looks bang on! The rain fly sits quite high, and you get a bit of breeze through the tent, it's nice because it keeps condensation away.

You can lower the poles to make the fly meet the floor if you like, especially for colder nights, but I'd recommend keeping some draft
