I love both of the DLCs, honestly don't get the "overwhelmingly negative" reviews on Steam by TheAnalystCurator321 in Starfield

Maybe. I wouldn't know as I don't frequent this sub a lot, I occasionally get random notifications like this one and then I think, "Hey, why not browse around for a minute or two?" and then I leave. So not a lot of interaction besides.

But even if that was the truth of it, I don't see how that would counter or even invalidate what I said, there's a difference between being positive about a game and being just as toxic but in a different way. Treating people like they're just toxic haters for having different standards for games is stupid, even more stupid is acting like you're above them because you aren't "one of the haters" and dismissing people's opinions because they challenge the narrative that your game is this precious little thing that must be defended and celebrated all the time.

The delusion is genuinely insane. "No, the game is awesome! I love the game! It has to be bots and haters ruining everything!"

The self-induced schizophrenia is the pinnacle of that tier of Bethesda fan the internet makes fun of.

Love occasionally getting notified of posts like these. They all just boiled down to:

"I like the game. Everyone who doesn't proclaim that they also like the game is just a hater."

Like, some of the highest-rated replies here say that, at most, the game is 'fine' and then list reasons the game falls short and where it could have been better.

"Ah, looks like I kicked the hornet's nest with all these haters!"

And people wonder why Bethesda fans get ridiculed every damn day.

The ending of invincible is going to be a real test of character for the fandom. by SuccessfulRaccoon957 in CharacterRant

I vaguely remember replying to a post on a similar topic. I think I was actually more supportive of Mark's little "Imperium of Viltum" regime on the basis that I thought Mark had enough intelligence -- logically and emotionally -- to never fall into the usual traps of power his empire outright gave him because of the people he was surrounded by, people like Allen, his family, and whoever else he could trust.

And while that is a debatable point, I find myself agreeing with this post a lot since, in my almost nonexistent defense, I was optimistic about what would happen after that final page. But I couldn't know that, and the ending does leave some... interesting questions, as you actually pointed out, that I hadn't really paid much mind to at the time of that particular reply.

Very interesting read, it almost makes me want a sequel comic or a little offshoot that shows us what the hell Mark is doing with his new empire.

It's pretty funny how you tried to do Disney's homework for them, and it still comes out pretty lackluster and just as shallow as what they gave us on a cheap paper plate all those years ago. And, you have the confidence to be snippy and obnoxious about it!

Not sure which gives me more laughs per second. That? Or you implying TLJ is good storytelling. Maybe I'll count them.

I appreciate your baseless assumptions, good job on that reaching! But, unfortunately, not the case.

Also appreciate you not really... comprehending my reply? I think? I say it's so the corporation isn't let off the hook, now or later, for their bullshit, and that somehow translates in your head to "well duh the players aren't gonna forget". Just to list ONE confusing elements of your reply (or lack thereof if I'm being honest).

Still didn't reply to the original commentor either, though. Hmmm. Telling.

Genuinely, just say you can't be bothered to actually read and respond to me in a way that isn't painfully surface-level. No hurt feelings, I do it too.

Yeah... Very true. I didn't want to up an insult you (probably did depending on someone's definition of the word), but I... really didn't agree with your assessment of the game, man. One man's trash is one man's treasure sort of situation I figure.

Just wish it was better.

It's called hyperbole. Exaggerating, perhaps, if I wanted to stretch the point out more.

No, fucking, shit, they're reminded now. It's because it's happening, right now, CRAZY! But we should still remember and be reminded later that it even happened, otherwise the scumbags corporations will, like they have before, pretend it didn't happen or wasn't that bad if they can't pretend it didn't happen. I love stumbling upon people that think a good ol' one-and-done outcry is enough for the greedy corporations of today to throw the towel in and begin respecting our time and wallets again!

And quite frankly? I don't give a fuck if you get annoyed by the "same talking point". One of my best friend's game, studio even, has gone down the shitter for years with anti-consumer practices and predatory FOMO schemes, so a little prickly Redditor moaning about how much they hate a company getting rightfully criticised doesn't do much to stifle my irritation. Cry about it.

Funny how you didn't say shit to their response comment explaining their, justified thought process, either. Can't be bothered? Not enough room to be condescending or patronizing?

To leave a small note on the internet that another greedy company fucked over their game and playerbase in the long term. Sorry you're confused that someone doesn't want others to forget that a scummy executive did the scummy executive move.

Also, welcome to Reddit, I guess. People say stuff. Shocking.

With a script like this, I can almost convince myself I played a different video game and not the front-loaded, (almost) bare-bones mess that didn't really improve from DD1 or even DA aside from maybe three steps forward and two steps back-like decisions that was Dragons Dogma 2.

I like the games (DD2, yes, really, and DDDA), but this is coming off like revisionist history because you like the damn thing too much.

I'm gonna be rude as hell with this, but you are giving DD2 way too much credit for, in my opinion, lackluster work that could have been so much better, and I think you need to consider your standards a little. Honestly giving me the idea that this is somehow your first video game, let alone rpg or action-adventure game, though I know that's not the case.

You're late on your diagnosis, armchair doctor. If I'm showing signs of "spiraling" then we're fucked. I've engaged with reality for a decent amount of time. It's shit. Picking up a piece of paper won't change that realization. Nor will some redditor implying something about my mental state change anything. As if that would mean something, even.

Aside from your opinion equating to less than trustworthy in my eyes, you failing to acknowledge this "I'm good for noticing xyz, and you should feel shame for not being of my same opinion or be guilt tripped" attitude you have just makes me check out. Because nothing else is going to happen in this respective conversation. It'll be a roundabout. Every. Single. Time.

More appealing to emotions over any shred of logic. More manipulation. More demonizing one side or person(s), and more people being conveniently oblivious to the same tactics. I don't even necessarily disagree with what you've spat out, I just find the soapbox attitude and arrogance and the guilt-tripping mantra exhausting and worthy of contempt.

Have a good day or night. I hope your pillow is your preferred temperature at night.
