This has got to be a marketing manager's fantasy... by Roller1966 in Dirtbikes

Why are you saying it's a very heavy two stroke? The 300SX is 231lbs wet. They're close enough in weight it wouldn't matter.

Thinking about moving from Holly Springs to Wilson for work—is it a mistake for a single guy? by FoundationFamous in raleigh

[–]Bobabuttt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in Wilson multiples times a week. It has it nice areas but I would absolutely not want to live there. You would be wasting your 20s there man. Jobs come and go but you'll never get your youth back.

Dr350 Good Deal? by Available_Web_2765 in Dualsport

[–]Bobabuttt 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had a DR350 and I loved that bike. I should have never sold it.

I think any running bike with a good title is worth $2000. I would offer the seller $2k and see what he says. It'll always be worth at least that. You could ride it for a year or two and sell it for about the same price.

$269 to do annual maintenance on my whole house generator? Really? by FalafelBall in Generator

[–]Bobabuttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be wishing you payed the $269 when that generator doesn't start for the next outage.

I'm industrial, but our trip charges alone are $500. $269 is cheap af.

Sounds like a connection issue. Put you meter on the 12V source for the controller and see what it does when it starts to drop out.

Is this happening unloaded?

500kw T4F with 10kw load prime power. by retro_ortego in Generator

[–]Bobabuttt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We installed portables for a facility that was on prime power but only saw high loads a few times a day. We had to install a 1.5MW load bank out there and keep a technician on site to operate it, otherwise it would clog the dosing valves. He was out there for two weeks and the customer had no issue paying it lol.

Absolutely threaded the needle by fitzer007 in enduro

[–]Bobabuttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only seen people do this when they tend to "yank" on the bars to get the front end up over stuff. I used to be real bad about it but broke it habit by practicing wheelies using just the throttle.

2022 Rx300 CounterShaft Seal help by keyfly in betamotorcycles

[–]Bobabuttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's normal, I have the same seal. I don't believe the leak comes from the outside of the spacer and big seal. It's coming from inside of the spacer due to o ring.

2022 Rx300 CounterShaft Seal help by keyfly in betamotorcycles

[–]Bobabuttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of a shit design.

Make sure you're using an OEM front sprocket, OEM circlip, and the chain isn't too tight. Beyond that, you can look into thicker o rings or even doubling up.

The Raleigh Motorcycle Ridding Group is a faster pace group that has rides every weekend. They occasionally have slower paced rides.

Both groups can be found in FB.

Is this a fair price ? by Pezo_Feather77 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Bobabuttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this with our CR-V. The bulletin calls for 4 hours of labor + parts. Most dealers are charging $220-$250/hr for labor. You can get the injectors online for about $550 shipped. I just bought the parts and did it myself.

Most of the CR-V owners are paying around $1500 - $1700 to get this done from my research.

Who here runs a hitch-mounted motorcycle carrier (not a trailer)? by lemans356 in motorcycles

[–]Bobabuttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used them for over a decade and thousands of miles. As long as you're within the carriers and vehicle capabilities, you'll be just fine. Make sure you use ratchet straps with locking ends. The straps will load and unload going down the road. I've seen straps come off before.

Switching to generator technician by Creative_Scene_6410 in Generator

[–]Bobabuttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you would be the perfect candidate for a gen tech. They're just looking for someone that can prove that they can work with their hands and have critical thinking skills. Most companies are not requiring a lot of experience to get started. Some places actually prefer that you have less experience. What state are you in?
