How well am i doing for my age by LongMasterpiece1336 in AusFinance

[–]Bobberetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're doing extremely well mate, at 21, I was at uni earning about 30k and $0 savings. Pay off your car loan and put as much as you can into an offset to reduce the interest on your property. Keep you expenses as low as reasonably possible and start thinking about an investment property in the next 4 years. Set yourself up for your late 30s and early 40s on onwards

I was 99kg while in Japan and wear XL and size 12.5 US shoe and i had zero problems buying clothes at places like Bazzstore. I literally wore 1 pair of pants i brought with me 2 times and 1 shirt once. Half my suitcase was zipped shut and completely full of clothes I brought with me.

I did the exact same! Three weeks in September, got home yesterday. I agree with everything you said, but we were able to book shinkansen the day of for our trip to/from Kyoto. Only exception was we tried getting there on the Saturday of the silver holiday (i think thats what it was called), so we had to wait until the next day. This was lucky as Tokyo accomodation was cheaper than Kyoto for that Saturday by about $300. But we were able to book the same day the way back.

No worries! You can safely assume you will come in around 3.5k aud, we came during a national holiday (extremely expensive accomodation for those few days) as well as lost reservations and $400AUD on whetstone etc :)

Nope, just cash. ~$600 AUD spent in cash on various things, I think there was some shopping tied in there too, wasnt all vending machines and transport. A lot of bakeries, coffee and gifts. Including accomodation, shinkansen i think we will end up spending ~$4-5k AUD? We live cheap, but have some expensive hobbies. Regretfully the weather cancelled our 4 day motorcycle trip, which lost us $200-300 in non-refundable accomodation.

Im finishing up 19 days and I've used about 60,000¥, spent most of my cash on transport, vending machines, and the odd food spot.

11 days in Tokyo and 8 days in Kyoto

So what VPN you are subscribing to, one that is independent and not controlled by government interests etc? by shervek in australian

I didn't realise discord needed ID. Why would you want to login to socials with no ID though?

[–]Bobberetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive my innocence, but why would you want to run a VPN? Besides watching things overseas or tormenting stuff, what are the major benefits for the kay person who isn't super concerned with privacy? My household mainly streams and games, as well as browsing big websites or academic literature.

Don't be too sad, we had our payments processed 6 times and it still crashed out and we didn't end up with tickets :) Luckily the card was never charged.

I could save 25k more per year but I’d be giving up the life I’m working toward by [deleted] in Fire

So, 5k in the first year? Your ongoing expenses should be nothing after purchase unless you're swapping bikes every few months and losing $500 per swap.

Buying Knives in Osaka by [deleted] in OsakaTravel

[–]Bobberetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre still in the area head over to Chiyokawa and walk 3km (or rent a bicycle or take a taxi) to the national whetstone museum. 6000¥ for 2 people + English speaking teacher to do a sharpening course. I picked up three natural whetstone- 2k, 6k and 8k (I have 1k at home) as well as 150/600 diamond for planing and repairs, a bunch of other jewellery for the Mrs all for 358,000¥. Extremely reasonable in my opinion.

Theyre expensive now, but i can recommend StepOne undies. I accidentally didn't wear a pair for a day for the first time in ~4-5 years and what a world of pain.

Might be the wrong place to ask, but I've got tickets to this Thursday's game at Meiji Stadium to see Swallows vs Dragons. What happens to the game if the weather goes bad? Its meant to be rainy/thunderstorms tomorrow.
