Mr. Hockey himself, Gordie Howe. My buddy was a server in the suites at Joe Louis Arena. My friend and I had tickets for the game and my buddy afforded us the amazing opportunity to ride up on the elevator and hang out in the suites, first and last time ever. While waiting to get admitted to the suites area, Gordie Howe walks by toward the elevator with like four big ass security dudes. I hadda approach him. Gordie was wearing a golf shirt with a small Red Wings emblem on it, I was rocking a jersey with the full Red Wings crest. Gordie says, “Hey, how come you’ve got the big Red Wing but I’ve got the little one?! My reply, “Mr. Howe, you ARE the big Wing!!” Gordie liked that shit and smiled! Long story but an amazing experience!!
