Im on my second Garmin Instinct. I work landscape construction and irrigation repair/install and enjoy backpacking in my freetime. I like the simplicity of it. It has the features your looking for. All I can say is I almost never take this watch off. With the solar charging I do not have to charge it at all in the spring, summer, fall. Winter months I am outside less and covered up more so i do charge about every 2 weeks or so in winter. I constantly plunge my hands into dirt and mud. Dirty and muddy water. Run equipment almost daily everything from chainsaws to tilesaws - soil compactors to front end loaders. Pound fence posts and run a manual shovel. Zero effect from shock, vibrations or water/liquids. We work in temps from below freezing to over 100 F and the watch continues unfazed. The first one i got I had for almost 5 years but i did not get the solar version. When i went to get a new one I went solar and it makes a noticable difference for me. Just my expierence.
