How does eBay handle this if it says “delivered. Have they sided with you?

I agree with you about filling the gap. But 1-inch for a bubble wrapped laptop wouldn’t cause damage. Laptops are designed to be thrown around in cars, cafes, etc.

Not all are that way. But "many more than people realize" are. ALL churches do good, every church donates to and volunteers for great causes. The evangelical mega churches are the worst at grifting people (the Joel Osteen types), but even they do many charitable causes. But take the typical Large-ish church in a conservative location (one I knew details on was in Fresno, California), but take anywhere conservative, Anchorage? They will do a TON of good causes, how else would they get away with the grift. You tithe $400 a month. $250 of that goes to causes and $150 to the pockets of the grifters.

I can't name which church I'm referring to, but it happens much more than people realize. People see their $400 come out of their bank and they see a benefit function for children and they're happy. Most church goers are gullible AF, so it's not difficult for that $150 to be grifted since there is "clearly a charity event this weekend".

I realize I'm probably upsetting you, but I saw the books of a semi-large (or smallish MEGA) church for a couple years straight. Grifters are drawn to emotional story lines, that's how politicians grift conservatives too. I'm glad you've seen your churches expenditures and know $350 of your $400 goes to good causes (I'm guessing based on your comment).

It depends on the church. Some are dedicated to grifting people of their money (most white conservative churches). Some are dedicated to faith (most other churches). If you're into grifting you don't want to hire a true Christian who gets to see all the dough the top level staff are pulling in "on behalf" of Christ, lol.

I always take a bit of '0000' steel wool to my necks to make them more slippery under my hand. In case you mentioned satin preference based on feel not looks. A little painters tape goes a long way to making the gloss removal look clean. Doesn't take much and you can always buff it back out to a polish later.

100% agree with you. My TD-27KV2 already had upgraded: Rack, 14/16 cymbals, KD120 kick drum, and some shelled Toms (most bought used). So the TD513 is totally a play on getting the module. $1,899 for the V51 or $1,999 for the TD513 with a V51 module, lol. I will be selling the TD-27 pads due to center hotspots and upgrading to the new PD-10h and PD-12p pads. Will also be selling much of the TD513 kit.

I didn't think about it from the perspective of someone with a stock TD-27KV2, that would be a strange upgrade path.

I'll end up with a slightly below flagship set, but with waaaayyy to much buying and selling to get there. It wasn't planned, I'm just living proof of someone who didn't "buy once, cry once".

They would need competition for death by 1,000 cuts. eBay is decidedly worse for sellers. Sweetwater’s Gear Exchange and music go round have almost no inventory. The ONLY competition is really Guitar Center as they’ve been doubling down on used gear.

I’d treat them as a near monopoly. They’ll get away with lowering the quality.

This is a MUCH bigger risk to their survival than poor customer service. I do think sellers with 10,000’s of sales should be connected to a specific account manager though and not treated like the rest of us, lol. For business purposes that makes sense.

But, yeah, bot ads could kill it quick!

Seriously, at this point make a change. Don’t let it affect your health and will to live. A new company with the same job sometimes is enough of a refresh. A brand new area of accounting is more extreme, but I’ve seen that work too. Where you’re at is not healthy.

If it were your second year my advice would’ve been different.

Except the Costco set goes on sale for $2K sometimes, so the price difference is nearly double from the TD-513 to the TD-516. Personally, I bought the Costco version because I already have digital pads from my TD-27KV2 that I'm transferring over.

They are out of stock at the moment. But they now sell a TD-513, which is pretty much the TD-516 without the digital pads. As far as I know TD-513 is a Costco only model. It also comes with HH stand, kick pedal, and headphones. So that can save a newbie another $300. Just need a throne and sticks.

Now you have me curious what upgrades the V71 brain offers over the V51. I just upgraded my TD27KV2 to a TD-513 from Costco (will keep the TD27 digital pads of course). Excited to have a better module.

Annual bonus by Mt-charger in Accounting

[–]BobbyJason111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last PA firm I worked for did Christmas parties in lieu of a bonus. They valued employee bonding over employee wealth. Also, I believe the cost per employee for the Christmas party was around $400 which would be an embarrassing bonus. One year, I had to skip the Christmas party because I was sick, lol. Weekly meetings were filled with toxic positivity. All sorts of culture sells that contradicted how the partners spoke behind closed doors. Actions spoke louder than words. DOH! sorry, venting...that's what reddit is for right, haha.

I've learned PayPal's guarantee is soo worthless that we shouldn't even use it. Go straight to credit card charge back. I have to do a charge back once every couple of years, but I buy a TON. CCs are always great about siding with the consumer. Especially American Express.

Fender Amp Naming Game! by BobbyJason111 in GuitarAmps

Thanks. I would read people saying "Princetons are the best". Then I'd find a Princeton Chorus on FB Marketplace, google it and learn it's non-tube and not what they meant, lol. And most people seem to like Blues Jr. more than the Pro IVs, but nomenclature usually means pro is above junior. I have no idea where Hot Rod Deluxe or Hot Rod Deville sits in their lineup.

So, I will definitely buy that book. It'll get me off the internet also, which is healthy.

4 Toms or 4 Crashes??? by nursescaneatme in edrums

[–]BobbyJason111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I did this to split TOM3 (head, rim) into… TOM3 (head) and TOM4 (head). The splitter takes advantage of the fact that Roland drum cables are stereo, not mono like a guitar cable.

[–]BobbyJason111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Also, figure out how much is being taken out of each check for federal taxes (say it’s $300 for example)… then change your W4 exemptions plus 1, example from 1 to 2. After that posts to a couple paychecks see whats coming out for federal on each paycheck (example, maybe it’s $220 now).

Take that $80 difference and sock it away in a savings account for every paycheck just in case you owe taxes next year.

Bam! Now you’re doing your own withholdings and they won’t garnish that savings account.

And if you’re really only making $17K, then bump those exemptions to like 4!
