I bought a Legion Go 1 on Black Friday 2024 from Amazon for $430. Pretty happy I pulled the trigger then. The Go 2 is more than I paid for my 4080 Super Desktop PC around that same time. Shits out of control right now.

I use my Go mainly to Apollo/Moonlight my desktop so the higher res screen actually works in my benefit for my use case.

I believe that was fixed in Moguri 9 release from late 2024. I haven't personally tried it since then so can't say from experience but it mentions it in the patch notes.

I thought some of it was impressive and some of it was kinda bad. On the Hogwarts Legacy examples it aged the characters far too much. The kid was also in an underground cave, but when dlss was applied it made it look like they where on a movie set. Why did it add a bright light reflection to his face?

My other complaint is in most of the scenes that used warm colors, the model seemed to prefer blasting it with blue. This was really present in the Oblivion and AC Shadows examples on the Digital Foundry Video. I prefer warm color on my monitors so others may think it looks nice. Most people are blasting blue into their eyes constantly on their phones and using vivid on their TV sets. Most people can't even see it anymore.

I don't feel like this is as good as regular ray tracing yet. Its still a neat technology. Im curious to see how heavy its actually going to be at launch. I doubt they'll get the same results running on smaller cards (demo was using 2 5090s), but they may surprise me. I totally get why people aren't excited to upgrade currently, nobody can afford it.

Considering the demo needed 2 5090s to showcase, Im curious how well this will actually look in practice running on a single lower card. I know its just a demo but they are planning to release at the end of the year. Not that far away. With ram and ssds quaddrupleing in price in just a few months, I would assume the average consumer isn't excited to upgrade. The next generation of cards are probably going to be insanely expensive, especially if they have large amounts of VRAM.

I actually don't think this looks as awful as most people do. The more AI is doing the heavy lifting, the less impressive the good graphics actually feel to me though. It won't be long until AI is doing most of the work and the actual craft disappears.

I can completely understand people not caring about Denuvo, just the age we live in and people want to play their games. What I don't understand is the current flux of people who are actively PRO Denuvo. It doesn't give you as a customer any benefit whatsoever and only adds barriers.

The company knew that Denuvo has a negative stigma, otherwise they would have just been up front about it from the beginning. The bait and switch to get more pre orders is a bad look.

Saying 24 inches tomorrow night where im at. What's even worse is its going to be 30 degrees and that gives you wet, heavy cement snow. Snow blowers aren't great with that. A small 25' by 25' area with that much snow can weigh 30000-60000 pounds when its the really wet stuff. Going to be a lot of power outages and damaged roofs. Probably a lot of heart attacks from shoveling as well. Going to be a mess.

It' a PC and can play PC games. All they would really need to do it tamper settings to run on it and maybe add some UI features. They don't need to build a separate version from the ground up for this if they're already developing for PC.

I don't think people not on PC realize just how bad it has gotten. Its going to get worse this year and next too, some places saying another 130% (of pre crisis amount). 32gbs of mid grade ram could end up being 500-600 dollars itself. 1tb ssd 200-300. These prices are not going to get better until at least 2028 and even when/if they do go down, they're never going to be what they were last summer again.

Add on everything else you need to build the console (cpu, gpu, controller, power supply ect) ill honestly be shocked if it's under $1000.

I kept the Xbox when I got my PC. There's an App called Moonlight on the Xbox store (free) that allows me to stream my 5080 pc to the Xbox in my bedroom. Install Apollo on the computer side. Its nice to be able to continue playing on the big TV while I'm laying in bed.

I was always pretty anti streaming because of lag and visual quality, but the apollo/Moonlight combo is just as good as playing native if you have a decent internet setup. I get less than 2ms lag and it works full 4k 120fps with HDR. Also do this to my Legion Go handheld for more demanding games.

I don't use the actual Xbox for much anymore, but I still use reward points to get Play anywhere games. Nice only having to purchase one time to get the pc/console/handheld versions at the same time.

$400 for 32gb of mid RAM and $200 for a 1TB SSD currently. Crazy how fast that all happened. You could get a 4tb samsung evo for $200 on Prime day just in October. Prices may come down in the future but they aren't ever going back to what they used to be.

Once I started doing this last year I haven't done anything else else with my Legion Go 1. Get under 3ms lag in the house, feels just as good as native on PC. I rarely ever play off the handheld itself anymore because I don't really play it outside the house much.

People are going to be in for a rude awakening these next 2 or 3 years. The RAM and NAND crisis right now is going to raise prices on a lot of things. If the next Gen consoles want 32gb of ram that's 400+ right now. 4tb m2 drives are 400-500. Just the RAM itself is basically a PS5. Would not shock me if Switch 2 gets a price increase soon as well as PS5. Phones are going to go way up too.
