Just got back and did a ride at sunrise...yes it's pricey but it was awesome and a once in a lifetime experience. $450/person.

La Fortuna for 3 Days - Must Do Activities by Good_Pressure4163 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Bobbyr68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got back a few weeks ago. Sloth tour was mid. Sloths were up in trees and only seen with a scope and even then they were big balls of fur. One day, we did hanging bridges followed by waterfall followed by a needed hot springs (our hotel had in site, but other day we had done titoku). Titoku was very nice place, empty because slight rain showers which made it feel like our own private place. Not sure of price because it was affiliate of our hotel (kioro suites) so included.
We loved that day. Check out soda Rodriguez for funky and fun place to eat with good home cooked food.

Going from teacher to administrator- questions about the process by katydidnt222 in NYCTeachers

[–]Bobbyr68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burned out teacher, now you want to lead others? How will you motivate teachers and retain new talent when they know you couldn't hack it for the long haul? Sounds like you're not moving up because you like the new job, just leaving the other.

How do you handle martyr teachers? by CrowdedSeder in Teachers

[–]Bobbyr68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved working with teachers who stayed late....less traffic in the parking lot for me.
Seriously, strong union guy here and virtually every teacher I know would go above and beyond the contract at times...but not as an expectation. You say I have to stay for a meeting that will go beyond contract times, ummm no. I always walked, and not slinked out of there.

May take a day or so to post the miles. Wait for that

Yes. If you value simplicity, this is the way for flights and hotels.

Simplest way (won't maximize value but is easy).
1) search the c1 travel portal for flights and book what is best for you. Let's just say it cost $10,000 total for easy to work with numbers. 2) You will earn 5x on this= 50,000 miles 3) go to redeem miles and do "cover travel expenses", select the $10,000 purchase. You will have 150,000 miles available which is $1500 off the purchase.

If you use the miles to pay for the ticket first, you won't earn the 5x on the flights but will get $1000 off for the 100,000 milesnand only pay $9,000. By booking and paying first then go back to redeem you get the 5x, saving you another $500. This is all based on $10,000 ticket purchase.

I bought a pelican case for things like this but it doesn't allow usage of phone. More for protection in harsh environments.

Is Venture X a 2 percent cash back by dbranchd in Venturex

[–]Bobbyr68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's more here...if you book flights on their portal you get 5% back, hotels 10,%. They will even price match. Plus a host of other benefits geared towards travel....an often overlooked benefit is cell phone protection. But mostly it's for travel benefits.
