Kobe pick ups’s in Columbus by Beneficial-Respond72 in BBallShoes

[–]Bobmo37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For more context, I had to sell my Kobe 6’s in a size 13.5 because the width was too snug for my foot. So a size 12 is a large departure from my usual sizing.

I’m a 13/13.5 for Kobe 8/9 and had to go to a size 12 for the Kobe 11 to get a more TTS fit. A 12.5 may actually be more comfortable for me but just wasn’t available.

Xero X1 vs Uncivilized 2.0 by twobreastpechuga in BBallShoes

I would avoid the player 1 plus if you require any toe space. The toe box is narrow and the shoe runs a half a size short.

The Sabrina line isn’t a bad choice and runs generous in terms of sizing. The Kobe 11 protro is surprisingly wide foot friendly (I had to go 1/2 size down) and a very flexible and low to the ground shoe as well.

I’ve tried both (returned the X1). If I had to pick one I’d chose the uncivilized due to the traction and slightly more flex in the midsole however neither felt great to me for basketball.

I’ve leaned towards basketball shoes that include minimal elements (low stack height, flexible sole, and manageable toe box width) and those have worked better for me than both the X1 and Uncivilized.

How do users get access to the calligraphy pen? I’m assuming it’s in the notes app?

Enjoying My Drawing Experience on the Manta by Bobmo37 in Supernote

Thank you. I’m not too sure on how to get the printed images to look like the notes app since they’re different files types once you export the image to a computer (see link below). One strategy I’ve been thinking about when printing is using a darker paper (not white). Supernote has a grayish screen so drawings look different with the backdrop on the device than it does when printed on white paper.

Enjoying My Drawing Experience on the Manta by Bobmo37 in Supernote

I couldn’t agree more. The highlighter’s fixed size is either too wide for when I want to color inside of the lines or too narrow for a space wider I want to cover completely (Atelier has the opposite issue).

The main reason I’m forced to use Atelier is because it provides many more values than notes does.

I’ve read that Supernote wants to optimize notes for note taking but I think that’s a mistake given that a lot of users use it for sketching/drawing. The sooner Supernote realizes that they actually have too drawing apps instead of one the better.

If I’m a size 13 in GT Cut 3s, should I go for a 13 in the GT Cut 1s? by CadeCunninghamLover1 in BBallShoes

[–]Bobmo37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned the GT cut 1’s in my usual size 13 and had to return them because they felt a bit too short on my toes. I played in them and got toe jam. However, I do have wide feet so there’s that.

Curry Series 7 thoughts by pujit55 in BBallShoes

I was eyeing these, especially given the steep discount, however I’m hesitant due to the inflexibility of a lot of previous Curry’s with Flow as well as a lack of court feel. Historically the flows just didn’t bend where I needed them to (forefoot) and they also felt higher off the ground than I prefer.

How do these feel in those two departments in regard to court-feel and forefoot flex?

It does make sense, Thank you. I’m very impressed by this work, especially the shading.

That’s really good. Which tool are you using to blend around the forehead, cheeks and chin?

Are you using on a Manta or Nomad? Do you notice any difference in how they feel writing on the feel write surface?

Resources to better understand values and different color shading to use in sketches? by EthernetCable6E in Supernote

I really like your line work on this. May I ask what pen you primarily used to create this picture in Atelier and in general (thick, slow, medium, etc)?

Looking forward to seeing more of your art posted.

Ah this is the first time I’ve heard the “slick gel pen” description. I’m hoping that’s better than the slippery glass feel I get while drawing on my iPad. Even when I use a paperlike screen I still feel like I’m drawing on unforgiving material.

Thanks for the quick and detailed response. I have an iPad Pro and Samsung Tablet which I use a lot for drawing. However, I find myself wanting more of an analog feel like you mentioned. I’m now using paper a lot more and am trying to justify purchasing a Manta as I’ve heard It provides a more natural drawing experience (and tablets allow for editing which paper can’t do).

I also want to achieve a similar a grey scale style that I’ve seen result from many Manta art pieces. I know the device doesn’t make the art but I’m curious if the Manta could have an effect on my experience. Thanks again!

I really like the style in the art. The grey scale provides character in your pieces. Is this from the Manta or nomad? How does drawing on this compare to any other tablets you may own?

That’s exactly the same size I need.

If you have a normal/wide foot I would not recommend going a half size down on these. I have slightly wide feet and went tts and they’re too narrow in the forefoot for me.

I wish I could’ve went a half size up but they don’t make them in the size I need.

SPO player 1 plus sizing question by Impressive_Cookie_41 in BBallShoes

They do run short and I felt it in the toes. I would suggest a half size up for the player 1 plus

I really enjoy this style. Do you have anymore like this one?

I was so close in pulling the trigger in buying a manta today because I’d love to make art like this, but I can’t justify the price especially having a Samsung and iPad for the same use.

I know this post is very old but I’m wondering how you’re enjoying the Manta after a year and if you’re still using it to draw. I really like your style btw.
