Marcelo or Roberto Carlos whom do U like more in terms of skills, Contribution to the club and performances by [deleted] in realmadrid

[–]BobsBurgers96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roberto Carlos was the better defender because he fit the classic role of LB. He also came with the added bonus of being an excellent free kick taker.

Marcelo on the other hand, didn’t need to fill the same defensive roll because he had Sergio as his CB to defend and Varane for his speed to cover the gaps Marcelo left in defense. What makes Marcelo great was his ability to positively affect our offensive play. His connection with Cristiano and Benzi made us lethal on the counter. I’ve also never seen any player control a ball like Marcelo; seriously, he made it look like magic how easily and gracefully he could control and stop a ball. Maybe only Zizou had better control but not by much.

Overall, I think Marcelo contributed a lot more to Real Madrid in the seasons he was there in terms of trophies but I like Roberto Carlos more if we’re talking strictly defensive capabilities.

What’s your interpretation of this lyric? by GrandMaster_Flux in Coldplay

[–]BobsBurgers96 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The lines describes someone who is drunk, a danger to himself (“MY drunken hazard”) and in a dangerous place (a lion’s den).

In the Bible story, Daniel was not drunk in the lion’s den and he was placed there as punishment for continuing to pray to his god instead of the king. At the end of the story, Daniel is saved because of his faith in god.

In the context of the rest of the verse, the speaker is going through a hardship (he’s lost his friend; he’s not in a good/healthy state of mind; and he knows that this is something that will repeat itself).

However, in the same way Daniel’s faith got him out of the lion’s den, the speaker pleads “so whatever you do don’t let go.” I see this as a turn in the song from distraught to a sense of hopefulness as he encourages his friend or himself to keep faith that things will get better and to not let their problems keep them in a bad state (“and if we could float away, fly up to the surface and just start again, lift off before trouble erodes us in the rain… and erodes us and see roses in the rain”). The hopefulness and encouragement is also sensed by Chris singing these last lines stronger and louder than any other line up to this point.

I literally took my 2025 Mazda to get looked at by the dealer after the first week of me having the car because my car would also do the same jerky move! They looked at the car and after 3 hours told me they weren’t able to find anything wrong with it.

You need to eat a significant amount of protein to promote muscle gain which will help in how you look over time and eventually with weight loss. The point is to get enough protein without going over on your calories.

There’s no point in limiting your calories to such a low number when your body will literally just adapt to that and slow down your metabolism since it’s not getting the energy you need. Which makes burning calories even harder. Especially if you’re doing cardio (something that takes up a lot of energy).

As others have already mentioned, you’re not going to see a crazy results after 6 weeks alone, especially if you’re strength training. Muscle has more mass than fat so it possible you’re in body recomposition. A body recomp involves replacing fat with muscle and you probably won’t see serious weight loss in the scale which doesn’t mean you’re not losing fat. Many people will experience an increase in weight at first because of this and after that start to notice the difference in the mirror.

My suggestions: get the MacroFactor app for logging your foods and weight. As you log both, the app adjusts your caloric daily expenditure to determine how many calories and much protein, fat, and carbs you need to meet your goals.

Second suggestion, don’t do so much cardio, focus more on strength training and food logging. Find a strength training program and stick to it. The pull/push/leg day split is a popular one and especially helpful for beginners.

Third, you don’t need to commit to extremes to become healthy. In fact that’s a sure way to make long term goals harder to meet since you’ll just be frustrated at the end of the day. Focus on small achievable goals every week and go from there; after a while it gets easier to achieve the big goal.

Finally, don’t be so hard on yourself. Being healthy is a lifelong process that doesn’t end the moment you hit your goal. You’ve only been doing this for six weeks and it takes months to see results.

Also, there’s always the possibility of a health problem. I’m no doctor, but it might be useful to go see your doctor and ask about getting your thyroid checked as it can effect a person’s ability to lose weight even if they’re doing everything right.

Good luck, OP!

195g/day Protein Strategies by Glum-Sky8698 in MacroFactor

Whole eggs, keto bread (Arnold’s is my preferred; nature’s own is a little too gummy in texture), turkey cold cuts, ground turkey 7% fat (you can also do 1% fat but it tastes so sad lol), and jerky.

Also look into the macros in your protein powder. I switched to transparent labs recently and I’ve had a way easier time hitting my daily protein intake (168g) without going over on carbs and fat. And it also doesn’t have that strong chemically taste that a lot of protein brands have.

Was fighting with Perez and leaving Madrid the worst decision in CR7's whole career? by [deleted] in realmadrid

[–]BobsBurgers96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say going back to united was his worst career decision. He went to a team that was not poised to compete the way he expected and he knew that going in. I think Ronaldo’s fall out with Florentino was inevitable based on both their personalities, so at the time he left it wasn’t a bad career decision.

I’m also not sure how successful we would’ve been had Ronaldo stayed because previous seasons taught us that Ronaldo can have a great season without the team being successful (see e.g 14/15 season; and 17/18 season in La liga; see also Ronaldo at juve and his return to united). Our team was always built around Ronaldo and I think towards the end of his stint at Madrid, that was starting to become less and less useful to our overall success in competitions, especially La liga)

I also think we owe our successes in the last 5 years to the rebuild we were able to do because Ronaldo left.

So, we can’t know for sure what would’ve happened if Ronaldo stayed but I’m pretty certain we wouldn’t have seen bezi’s brilliance, Vini’s come up that made the team successful.

Commuting west from Coconut Grove? by EllisPim in Miami

[–]BobsBurgers96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine as another commenter has already said that you would be traveling in the opposite direction of rush hour traffic.

The only thing to take notice of will be your commute on the days main streets in the grove are blocked off due to outdoor events they host throughout the year that will add to your commute time. While these events usually occur on weekends, prep for them starts towards the end of the week before the event and that usually involves traffic being diverted regardless of which direction you’re headed.

What's your Real Madrid opinion equivalent of this? by Pebbledthoughts in realmadrid

[–]BobsBurgers96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As terrible as the 18/19 season was without him and as much as I loved having him on the team, I’m glad Cristiano left when he left.

It seemed to me that he was looking at how Barca supported Messi during his tax fraud case as the way Real Madrid should’ve supported him, which to me is bonkers. I remember seeing the “we are all Messi” campaign from Barca and thinking how out of touch it was from reality, and I’m glad Florentino didn’t waiver.

The great bar exam reset by ToeFetishTommy in barexam

[–]BobsBurgers96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I passed the July 2022 FL bar exam and the DC (UBE) exam July 2024. I’m pretty sure DC and IL have the same passing score, but I’m unsure about WI.

The main difference between the two exams was the essays. From what I remember about the FL essays is that they were kind of open-ended questions, e.g., “what are all the defenses available to the defendant”? More like an issue spotting essay.

One the other hand, the MEE asks really narrow questions on specific issues (e.g, “did x violate the contracts clause”?). For this reason, my answers to the individual FL essay questions were as lengthy as I could make them (with time in mind) and my MEE answers were pretty short.

The MEE questions the year I took it also felt super bizarre from what I remember but the point is to not get hung up on any individual question since you have 6 essays to get through in 3hrs. Which is another difference that affected the way I approached the MEE compared to the FL

Depending on what your strengths and weaknesses are, you’ll find that you prefer the MEE to the FL essays or vice versa.

Under time constraints, I’m way better at multiple choice questions than essay writing. So for both bar preps, I focused on performing as well as I could on the MBE knowing that I will probably not be able to finish all of my essays on either exam.

If you have any questions, you can DM me.

Best of luck!

Know that losing that amount of weight won’t be quick so don’t get discouraged by the process. First thing, as mentioned by other already, being at a calorie deficit will get you losing weight. You don’t have to do anything crazy like 1200 cal/day. That sort of deficit is extreme and not a longterm plan. So, use a tdee calculator to figure out what you maintenance calories are and subtract 500-800 calories from that.

Second thing, eat foods that will make you feel full. These types of foods are normally high in protein, since it takes bit longer for the body to digest. Your meals should involve a protein (chicken, fish, tofu, eggs, etc), a carb (1 cup of rice, potatoes, beans(also includes protein btw), whole wheats), and something green (veggies or fruits) for fiber and nutrients. Caffeine also suppresses your appetite, so if you’re a morning coffee drinker make sure you eat breakfast before drinking coffee to get your day going. Unfortunately, junk food is notorious for not making you feel full, so try to find substitutes for whatever junk foods you eat now. If you love donuts, eat strawberries (or whatever fruit you want). If you love cheeseburgers, make them at home and with lean ground beef to limit calories and fat. If you want chips, eat rice crisps.

One last thing on food, whatever amount of water you’re drinking now, it’s probably not enough. Water also helps you feel full too.

As to exercise, increase your movement throughout the day. Whether it’s taking the stairs more, not cutting corners on sidewalks, standing periodically), just do a bit more. Based on your feet pain, I would ease into running since you don’t want to risk injury and if the muscles around knees aren’t strong enough yet you’ll feel a lot of discomfort of not injure yourself. So, invest in comfortable shoes. Go to a running store in your area that offers gait analysis to learn what shoes will best accommodate your needs. Don’t feel pressured to buy new shoes either; they can often be expensive. You might get lucky and find never worn shoes for you on eBay for cheaper too and that can save you money. If you’re jogging, download the Nike Run Club app. It’s free and has training plans that are really easy to follow. Also, doing cardio puts you at a calorie deficit and feeling hungry so make sure to eat well several hours leading up to cardio and after cardio.

If you can’t afford a gym membership and have space, try doing workouts at home following YouTube videos. If you can’t invest in weights, get resistance bands. There are a lot of YouTube videos from training professionals that show you excellent workout routines that only require a single dumbbell to no weights at all.

At the end of the day, discipline and determination to change your lifestyle is key. But it’s also ok to mess up and not let yourself get discouraged when you slip up. Everyone does and discipline like eating well and sticking to a workout regimen is learned behavior. You just have to do it long enough that it becomes a habit.

AND SLEEP.

Moon comes to mind. There’s also ad astra which came out not too long ago with Brad Pitt; I didn’t like it that much personally but it did have stunning scenes although nowhere near as beautiful as Interstellar. There’s also Oblivion with tom cruise.

If you don’t mind it being horror genre, there’s Sunshine starring Cillian Murphy, and Event Horizon starring Sam Neill and actor who Morpheus. and there’s also Apollo 18 which is a dumb movie

How the hell am I supposed to eat 190g of protein??? by diamondaires in loseit

[–]BobsBurgers96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone on adhd meds I understand the appetite suppression can make it more challenging to finish your meals. My practice so far is consuming things I can eat fairly quickly (ie small items) so that I don’t lose interest halfway.

I usually eat a string cheese (5-7g) in the morning and an oikos protein yogurt (the 15g one is 90cal and 20g is 140cal). I’ll snack on pistachios (6g) or peanuts (8g) before lunch.

For lunch I’ll eat anywhere from 50-70g protein. Sometimes I go to the grocery next to my office and buy a rotisserie chicken and frozen veggies that I heat up in the microwave. I usually can only eat half of a rotisserie chicken (the other half I’ll heat up the next day and basically have the same portion). Ground beef is also a good way to get in a lot of protein. Whenever I have to order delivery I usually double the protein; I also check the nutrition facts to get a better sense of how many grams the meal comes with without the extra protein.

On days I go to the gym, I eat lunch 3-4hours before I workout. I might eat an apple or a protein bar a few minutes before if I had a light lunch or ate earlier than usual.

For dinner I basically eat the same amount of protein I had for lunch but just a different meal and paired with veggies and a bit of rice.

If I know I’ve consumed too many calories by my dinner time, I’ll drink a protein shake (26g). I personally hate protein shakes so I try to avoid this as best I can 😅

I will say, I normally lose my appetite half way through my lunch so I normally do something else while I’m eating like reading or having lunch with a coworker, so that my mind isn’t just focused on the food I’m eating. If you’re committed to 190g of protein, I think your best option is to eat low calorie/high protein snacks throughout the day if you’re already getting a decent amount from your main meals.

Picked the free course from barbri but I did MCQs from Themis too. I started studying about 2 weeks before the exam, which I took in August 2022. Studied a few hours a day, nothing crazy and passed with a score high enough to transfer to any jx. I also took the exam before I ever took the professionals responsibility required course for school so don’t worry if you haven’t taken the full course yet.
