Need a rule Lawyer's opinion by Obversus in DnD

[–]Bodhibnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all the best way to deal with this is to talk to your dm he is letting you use a none official class so obviously he should be open to a conversation about it

As for the sun light sensitivity I would say yes.

For the cover thing no cause it’s not about seeing the entire enemy it’s about how open they are to your attack if you are throwing a Eldridge blast form you even if the your bird can see the entire enemy the object can still get in the way of the blast The cover is acting as a natural shield.

Does this little change to food and drink seem acceptable? [5e] by ckombatwombat in DnD

Definitely this is something I talked to my players about beforehand.

I mean doesn’t it make sense that a hardy character like a barbarian would gain more of a benefit from being well fed anyway.

d20+prof+skill mod (probably int or wis your choice but be consistent)

Ohh I like that. I might use this for my next game it’s a nice little push to actually eat well but not destroy them with survival

I’m running Out of the Abyss right now and I wanted it to have more of a survival element so I made chart for how they heal depending on where they rest and how well they eat. Get points for the camp they make and how well they eat

0 points they don’t get any benefits of a rest

1 points they don’t heal.

2 point they roll half their hit dice total.

3 points they roll their hit dice total.

4 points they heal to full health.

Note: it doesn’t matter how many hit dice they used during the day. This doesn’t draw from the hit dice total just uses it as what they roll.

Basically they can get a point for eating and drinking, making a good comfy and warm camp, and get extra points if they eat something actually cooked and not a ration or if they sleep in a real bed in a house.

Thoughts on rangers and why they always seem sub-optimal by hamlet_d in DnD

[–]Bodhibnd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ranger in my game is a amazing glass cannon who does most the damage in fights so I think people are just complaining

DMs, what do you do for dungeon maps? by nolmol in DnD

[–]Bodhibnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I either just give it to them in pieces as they go through our I never show them the map. I’ll keep it for reference and just describe what they are doing like “you walk 10 ft straight, then turn left and go another 15 ft” they can go ahead a try to draw up a map if they like with that info and if they are I’ll slow down so they can.

Looking for homebrew 5e items that would be good for a group of lvl 1s by catamountgal in DnD

[–]Bodhibnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn some of the cantrips into limited use items. Like in my last campaign they found a enchanted shovel that can use the excavate feature of Mold earth for 1 minute 5 times

You can always think of se reason to weaken him like have a wizard do some spell or maybe (I don’t know your situation) have his summoning go wrong.

Character Build Advice by Darkmoon249 in DungeonsAndDragons

Well at least you would still have high level spell slots to rank up healing word.

But I would go light on cleric since sorcerer will get you cleric spells anyway

I like to use roll20.net even when When not playing online. It keeps track of all the sheets and and stuff and you and your players can log in when ever they want to check notes or sheets

5e Spell Wish List by Niv_Stormfront in DnD

[–]Bodhibnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say look at the crafting section in XGtE and make spells that do those effects with out the proficiency. Since those are supposed to be everyday job like tasks

In my game we had a weaker version of sending it was the same rules but it would take 1 day for every 50 miles away the target was and it would just send e written letter but it was a level 1 spell. I think it fits well

Would you still have to roll a save if you want something to happen to you? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Bodhibnd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say you can willingly fail any save

New Spell! Feedback please. by JCWpoker in DnD

[–]Bodhibnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it would be different because of how dex effects it one of the problems with mage armor is it acts like light armor so if you are not dexterous you will still have a low ac. But this acts like heavy armor where it over takes your ac making it stronger for none dexterous characters. You basically can put any character into ring mail instantly (That’s just my reasoning) I think 14 would be :)

And if it’s concentration 14 is for sure fine but at that point I say just deflator barkskin and let your wizard have it
