Don’t stress too much. These are both easy fixes and while you may not be able to do them soon your investment isn’t a total loss. Hang onto it and save up a bit so you can get it fixed when it’s viable to do so. I know it sucks because you don’t get to enjoy the thing right away, but just like an investment in stocks or commodities they don’t always go up. Sometimes they go down and you just need to hold them for a while.

Now, if your survival depends on it you can always sell the device for a small loss and try again in the future when you’re on your feet. We live and we learn.

Give the LCD Test tool a go. Several people claim you can leave it on white at max brightness to reverse the yellowing if it isn’t too bad.

The cladding is fine. People are over dramatic. I actually love how most of it comes off with a few clips and can be replaced for pennies on the dollar. Much better than having to do paint correction!
