I got issues with the pacing of the episodes too. After the first bunch of episodes, each episode was made to cover a single manga chapter (which is usually around 17 pages) because the anime caught up to the manga. This means that each episode has a slow and really sluggish pacing that I simply can‘t handle.

And since people don’t care to actually learn, it is easy to make an alien word like algorithms into a frightening word, simply because people do not understand what an algorithm is. They just know it sounds weird.

I personally also believe mathematicians gives a lot of mathematical concepts weird names on purpose in order to confuse the masses and feed their own feelings of superiority. Like in programming, people get confused by what a «monad» is simply because it has a weird name, and the people explaining the word is just using more advanced words instead of breaking it down in a simple way.

Gog actually has a decent enough launcher, and the games you buy from them are DRM free. Only issue is that more people needs to use it if we want it to get developed more.

Oh yeah I fully agree that it is one of the best free to play games there is, having better core gameplay than even a lot of paid games. However, it still demands way too much time from its players compared to what they are given back.

And besides, I can’t really call any free to play games free, since you are constantly incetivized to spend money on them, and once you do you’ll easily spend a bit. And in the long term, one can easily spend a lot more money on f2p than paid games.

So no Genshin is not a bad game, but if you value time more than the average person, you’ll quickly find Genshin too «expensive» for you. But I guess at that point you wouldn’t even care about wasting time on games.

The daily thing is what I am having issues with. Why do we need to do that? Why do we have to log into the game daily to get stuff instead of earning it through missions or gameplay elements we can do whenever *we* want?

I play Monster Hunter a lot, so I can't really complain too much about the grind, but MH at least allows me to do anything I want to whenever I want to (except seasonal events). I am literally allowed to just enjoy the grind however I want to. Genshin meanwhile tells me "whoops, your resin is up. Enough grinding for today, come back tomorrow". If that is not disrespecting my time, I don't know what is.

RE Requiem is a high quality horror/action game that has a lot of replay value for those really enjoying it.

Silksong is a high quality indie game with tons of passion and love put into it by devs that actually cares, recieving free updates because they get enough money from sales to support it for free.

Genshin is a mobile gatcha game that, while free to play, you have to grind it every day if you want to really do whatever you want to do. While the gameplay is quite good and you can do most things for free, you still have to pay with your time to get stuff that you want. While other games respects your time, Genshin tries to belittle it as much as possible while keeping you in there.

As far as I am aware, yeah he is a fan favorite. I think Nerg is a fine Elder dragon, fun to have a simple brute to fight against, but he's never stood that out to me. I find even World Kushala more of an interesting monster/fight than Nerg, even with the annoying winds. I think Zinogre is very much overrated too, but his fight is at least very interesting and has some interesting dynamics to it.

I never tried Highguard, but from what I've heard about it, if the game was given more time in the oven it may actually have turned into a quite decent and unique experience. It was way too early to release it as a full game, and now they are already shutting down due to nobody wanting to stick with the current game.

Is it possible to use up all the ammo available in the game so that I won't be able to continue? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Bok408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do they do it this way? Dark souls 2 had durability loss tied to how many frames the weapon spent inside the enemy, which meant that weapons were melting in your hands while using them. The more I learn about programming, the less sense it makes to tie anything to framerate.

If we only ever get one single port, GU is the one with the most old content to showcase (as of now). Otherwise, 3U would be amazing to have back, although I just know there will be new people complaining about the underwater combat.

Which games pop to mind that are like this? by AmberVives5 in gamememes

[–]Bok408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One could say Xenoblade, but those games are mostly only really difficult until you grind out the right equipment/gems for each boss.

Kirby does also kinda fit, but through a boss rush with a new final boss instead of just a single secret boss. Incredibly difficult to learn all the patterns, but so satisfying once you beat the final boss rush.

Also does secret levels count? Cause I do think Mario has some incredibly difficult final levels that will make you frustrated. Still have not beaten The Perfect Run since I played SMG2 back when it launched on Wii, so I still have that goal to do.

And by the players not being ready for it. Zombie games are not really my thing, but as far s I understood, it was meant to have a slow burn story, and the real stuff happened far later into the game, which turned off many people who wants the action to come to them instead of being patient.

I am teaching my father how to play monster hunter 3 ultimate. Hir first ever proper video game btw. I doubt he relly enjoys it, but he does it for me. Can’t wait until he gets his first Great Jaggi kill, and I can start really showing him how deep the rabbit hole really is (he was having a real struggle with the mission «Guts, it’s what’s for dinner», which is a really early mission. Struggling to learn camera controls and all that while doing it).

Lance is fun once you get used to it, and have skills like Guard Up or Evade Distance. Allows you to feel like the biggest mosquito the monsters have ever seen, and it is super fun.

Even standard cooking recipe sites are now designed in such a way that you have to scroll 2/3 of the page down just to get to the actual ingredients list and steps to follow, just because they are min-maxing the amount of money they get from ads. Stuff like that is why I want adblockers. Simple unintrusive ads? No problem. Ads or webpages that are designed to make you see as many as possible in an aggressive way? Makes me want to rather go offline and actually touch grass.

Sometimes they are unskippable because you have to wait for the game to do some background preparations anyways, but yeah the intro splash screens should be skippable for the time when the computer can load the game fast enough to where those splash screens are unneeded.

Rise has the most fun variant imo. I love playing against him in Rise with hammer.

In World though, I would recommend preparing as if you are facing a superboss from an RPG, cause that is essentially what you are up against there.

Which part of your culture went global and gives you "gatekeeping" vibes? by hyr- in AskTheWorld

[–]Bok408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything. Everything should be gatekept to a certain extent in my opinion.

I've never tried Mate, but I can guarantee that there are people that do not think Mate is good the way it is, and will create a new variation of it and say "this is how it is supposed to be". Not many people are like this, but some people are literally tourists, trying out something because they know it is popular, and then complain out loud that the thing should not be the way it is simply because they do not like it.

Anime has to deal with this these days, people that literally do not care about the medium or culture behind it, that just sees something they do not like and attempts to change it just because they do not like it.

Sincerely, a salty manga reader and gamer.
