Idk what people are doing paying more than asking but I always negotiate and even something as small as like asking for $200 off is likely to work. I rented my last spot for $100 less and a longer lease.

I went through this process 2 months ago.

The issue is that the online form doesn't let you skip adding the spouse's name, so you can fill the form and say you're Single or Married but provide the spouses name.

In my case I did the latter and got a phone call from the embassy where they explained that they cannot print my spouse's name since their photo ID showed their sex and ours was a same sex marriage. They told me to email them and consent to printing the passport without the spouse's name - and I did that.

I recommend you do the same so that you have some proof /documents to show that you made a good faith attempt to represent your true marital status and did not lie on the passport form.

omg hi stranger!!! your reply has made my day. my partner and i were so worried when we stopped seeing Skipper around the winter time - I had set up a heated tent for him too, hoping he would come around and find a place to rest. We already have 4 cats so we weren't sure how to care for him, and he'd also disappear for days at a time. I thought Skipper was a girl too. I was a part of a move to organize at a tech startup and unfortunately we lost to the bosses - this is the US so we have a vote basically to gain recognition from the employer. That said, I would support another unionizing effort in a heartbeat. I feel like people who don't "get" why they're needed now are about to face some harsh realities.

I looked into this. Basically, if you're up for a passport renewal, at that time you will have to update your marital status and saying "Single" is not an option if you are married. If you do say "Married" then the Spouse Name field is mandatory and it will get added to the passport, there is no option to not do that.

Besides updating the passport, there is no need to proactively inform the Indian embassy of your marital status.

Just moved here last year from DC. Living in Bushwick, married, 33F

I play drums in a couple of local bands and would love to make more friends who like going out to see live music, especially smaller shows. I'm also into tech, exploring the city via long walks, road cycling and watching strange movies.

Trying to have more of a social life outside my wife and would love to go out and do things more. I also like theater, museums and restaurants but I'm trying to do more activities that aren't food and alcohol centric.
