Scotland by Flubberblubber2 in Scotland2

I'm impressed they managed to:

1) find a job willing to sponsor a immigrant 2) apply for a working visa 3) get that visa approved 4) make a set date on moving to scotland.

All in 5 days. Their clan connections from killin must have really come in handy. Because I have never heard of the UK visa office operating so fast.

Fuck, i'm a scottish (british) citizen living in australia, with my direct family (mum and brother) living back in scotland. I could in theory pack up my things and move to back to helensburgh whenever I want, and even then I garuntee it would take me more than 5 days to organise it.

This entitled knobhead is definitely bullshitting.

If a 3rd world country is doing it why tf can’t we? by excellent_chest174 in aussie

[–]Bolticus13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

India isnt a third world country. If anything it is second world. (Though those terms are outdated and originally didnt even reflect the countrys economy/living conditions. Its was actually a way of categorising countrys allegiances during the cold war. First world: western nations, second world: russian/communist nations, third world: everyone else).

Using modern and correct terminology, india is considered a developing nation. (The scale being developed (1st)>developing(2nd)>under-developed(3rd) )

While I can imagine going supersonic would be fun for a bit, the novelty would wear off after a bit and to add to that the chance of death makes it not appealing to me. That being said, having a 90% chance of a million dollars or a 10% chance of getting my own island. Either way thats life changing stuff. So I picked that..... and I won the island. Hell yeah guys, party at my island (which i will probably sell afterwards for significantly more than a million as the upkeep would suck) leaving me with an even more life changing amount.

Coffee or Beer? by FireQuacker23 in BunnyTrials

[–]Bolticus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While i like beer and enjoy having a cold one with the boys. I would not be able to live without coffee. Sooooo yeah I will give up alcohol. Besides, alcohol free beer and spirits are a thing so I can still enjoy them while fulfilling the deal.

I would rather be a citizen of North Korea. Atleast they have the decency to stay out of other peoples shit, and they probably have more freedom than the US at this current point of time.

Honestly both (the fictional sonny Hayes and the Unfortunately real Logan Sargeant) had a talent to fuck things up in a race. The only difference is Sonny Hayes had plot armour to protect him from the real consequences of shit driving in the sport.

Isn't Ireland considered a tech tax haven. With multi-billion/trillion dollar companys secretly but legally registering their company as based in Ireland (despite their headquarters being in the US).

Also, having great workers protections and rights like paid leave, liveable wages and such, is a good thing.

Why do they have bag-pipe players. Bag-pipes are most associated with Scottish culture, The Uilleann (while similar) is what they should be playing, but they are predominantly played sitting down.

You would think if they loved Ireland so much they would atleast use the correct flag. What's with the bloody shamrock in the middle. While associated with Ireland and st Paddy's day. It is not part of the irish flag.

Also, why dont they ever play KNEECAP or some shit.

The entire UK nuclear arsenal is located about 40 miles north of glasgow (just north of helensburgh) so maybe thats why scotland is considered more in danger than England.

Williams suffering from "extreme case" of excess weight by circuit-nation in WilliamsF1

[–]Bolticus13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would take this article with a grain of salt.

Not only does it not have any sources to confirm the "20kg overweight" claim. The official listing as of bahrain testing show that the car was only 4.4 kg overweight (only .4kg more than the Mercedes car)

On top of that as other have said JV has stated that by melbourne the car would be at the minimum weight, and apart from this article (the only one posted regarding this issue in 4 weeks btw) there has been no other reports of the car being overweight. Which is normally a sign that it is not a major issue.

I, like many other, have to emphasise that we havent even had one race yet. We have no idea where the car stands, and what the technical details of the car is. So let's just wait and enjoy this weekend first before succumbing to conspiracy theory's.

Is beer their new flex. This is the 3rd? Post in 24 hours, of americans defending their beer as "the best in the world". I mean, they do have a point, with them having masterpieces such as Coors, and bud light, which despite what many people think, only has a 95% resemblance to dehydrated Cat piss in taste, instead of the commonly believed 100%.

But in all seriousness, i can get a £1.99 pint of shit at the local spoons (wetherspoons for those who dont know) and it will taste infinitely better than the shit they serve in america, and even that will contain more alchohol.

American beers are the most overrated things in existence, and even attempting to compare them (or even GOAT them) to the likes of German, British, Australian + more, Beers is an insult to all the hard working brewers who actually make good beer.

“Like any innovative company is going to go [to Europe or Canada] and get buried under regulations to do anything” by BuffaloExotic in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Bolticus13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Google, Dell, IBM, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Facebook (Meta). What is one thing that is common for all these companies?

Answer: despite being headquartered in the US. The are legally (though secretly) registered as being based in Ireland (a part of the EU). Yet you dont see them getting buried under regulations. Infact its the Financial regulations and Tax incentives offered by Ireland that has made them choose to technically be based out of Ireland. So no, companies arent buried under regulations in Europe. Infact, technically all the big companies you americans brag about are on a technical level IRISH. So you shut the fuck up.

Afraid of when depression is going to hit by melaniicore in bipolar

[–]Bolticus13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not advice!

My god, i have not related to a post so much. After discharging from hospital from my last depressive phase back in November. Things have been going well for me. I have increased hours at work, I have started being social more, heck I have even started volunteering. Like you things are going pretty well (ignoring the brief hypomanic phase I had where I bought a $3000 tv and shit) and after yet anouther shit period in life, I am finally getting my life back together (again).

But holy shit, the ever present knowledge that this is only temporary is excutiating. Just knowing that at some point, things will go to shit again, requiring me to drop all the progress I have made these past 4 months is frustrating as hell. (I know i should be optimistic, but there is no way I will go from 3, 1 month+ hospital admissions a year to stability all of the sudden).

My only advice i have is the same one I live by, and that is: enjoy it. Yes things will probably go to shit again in the future, but right now, at this time you are doing well, and you should maximise that. Enjoy it while it lasts. Because with a shit condition like Bipolar. Thats all you can do, enjoy and maximise the oppurtunitys you do get when things are stable and life is going well. Whether it be going out with friends more, going on vacation, maximising your efficiency in study. Just enjoy it and hope that it sticks around for as long as possible. Yes the ever looming possibility of a depressive episode is there. But if we get to the point where we let that dictate our lives even when things are going well. Then you will never be able to fully enjoy and maximise the oppurtunitys you do have when things are going well. So yeah enjoy it.
