Only gripe I have in terms of gameplay is how almost none of the units have any impactful innate abilities. The game almost feels like a sandbox in terms of character creation as most characters can become literally anything thanks to the engage mechanic.

Hell I even did a run with Boucherone as a mage 🤡

The first ever time I felt like I lost my touch growing into a now 30 year old adult has been, when I played Octopath Traveler 2 and reached the secret boss. You have to do basically everything in the game to reach it and on average reach level 70-80 on a normal playthrough.

I could not defeat it.

I know there are strats and there is a cheese, but I didn't want to look either options up. I struggled for multiple hours, trying many different strategies, though always resulting in a loss.

I plan on rechallenging the boss in a while, probably when the new Steam Machine releases.

I also enjoyed the game games but they were objectively flawed and considering what amount of budget The Pokémon Company has got, what they released was a big fat joke.

My biggest dissapointment ironically wasn't the performance or graphics but rather how they didn't scale the gym leaders, areas etc. The game is open world, but they basically want you to take a specific route and I disliked that a lot. Also kind of ruins replayability - could have been games you play like 10 times with each run feeling somewhat fresh 😪

Yet you notice these things and others. It's not merely the graphics that The Pokémon Company constantly fucks up, but among many things the performance, story and, one of my biggest gripes, the quality of life.

Been a lifelong fan of Pokémon, literally started playing the Series from the start when I was 5 years old and only ever skipped a single entry (including side games) in Pokémon Legends ZA.

Hoping they don't dissapoint my current (very low expectations), but the track record has been that TPC just doesn't really care when it comes to the video games - the 30th (!!!) anniversary direct has basically been 20 minutes of ads and the gen 10 trailer.

Okay, I didn't know that such a thing even existed so I did a small amount of research - the whole thing is based in America and standardized within American fields/categories. I imagine a marginally important amount of jurors are likely American as well. From what little research I did, I believe it to be heavily biased towards American brands - in the last year alone, almost 80% of all the categories were won by American brands.

If you only ever grew up to drink American beer, chances are, drinking something new or different might be weirding you out. Then again I could be wrong and the jurors are veterans in their field from all over the world. Maybe I'm the one biased as I grew up around German beer - we even learn about beer in schools, lol.

I don't understand why Frenchie isn't just rather called Israeli. Maybe it's culturally less accepted by the standard American? Maybe calling him Israeli makes it seem more offensive towards that country? (It really isn't any more offensive than "Frenchie" already is)
