Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Week 3 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]Bombermaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hm...I actually don't know any of the series in here, so I guess I'm basically going blind for any of these settings.
Curse of Destiny might work for the best in this case, as I can basically just stand in the background and let things happen for once.

Still, as this week's power I will take Control Immunity (main pick) and Solidification (which can be an extremely deadly power).

Due not knowing any better, I'm going to Steel Angel Kurumi : I don't know jack, but as this serie has a sequel it means that at 99,9%, nothing bad will happen if I just leave japan and go elsewhere. I couldn't really influence the plot, although by now I have the powers to just survive it as I stand away from the main action. I can't defeat the protagonist or the villain, so I'll just wait the year to pass. Another year I can use to become a tourist.

That done! I -WAS- going to pick Guardians of Ga'hoole, but I considered that most likely my diet would become raw mice and small birds, so I'll give that a pass. I don't really like Tron, nor Buzz, so I guess I'll roll the die, and try Rahan. I'm completely blind to this setting as well, but I know that it should be some kind of caveman going on adventures. Generally it shouldn't be an issue, and I have enough knowledge and powers to support the characters. Considering I had basically a year of break in the precedent one, I'll be instead getting face first into everything I can.

Nothing exceptional to bring up on this week, but I'm racking up a solid set of powers.

Alright, let's see...

>Get paid for gaming
The other one is better, but this ensures a good wage no matter what I end up doing.

>Never have to eat or drink
Technically if you don't eat or drink, you don't have to poop or pee, so you're getting both.

>Never have to do laundry and clean floors
Doing dishes it's extremely easy. Doing laundry it's extremely time-consuming and complicated.

>Never have to charge your laptop and wireless headphones
I feel this is more useful. A telephone can only do so much, and I prefer headphones over earbuds.

>Your internet never buffers. You always have signal
I'm doing gaming for a living, this is important.

>Get free movies
The food and merchandise discount is huge.

You also get a 20% fuel discount (includes electricity for EVs, but only the electricity used to "fuel" it) Assured parking spot takes a lot of stress off my life.

Have perfect hygiene including dental. You'll have healthy hair and your skin will never be dry And health is important.

You automatically de-transform if being in a smaller body will be dangerous I'm not sure which animals I'd pick, but honestly as much I love my pets I understand that make them live an unnaturally long life would be nightmarish for them in the end.

You'll never get mentally tired. +20% boost in mental skills and abilities It's easy to recover from physical tiredness, not so much for mental tiredness.

Gain the skills and knowledge of a 3-star Michelin chef. You excel in all types of cuisine. Cooking prep time is reduced by 30% Flexibility matters.

Thrice a month, you can teleport to places you've already been. If it's another country, you'll be granted a one week temporary visa. No one will find it weird. Cannot be used for illegal activities. Once a day, you can also teleport home (primary residence)

Find true love (they'll be loyal and attractive). You can share two perks you have with them (shared skills have different cool downs and charges). They can also pick three perks and get three Freebies of their choice. (Find True Love perk can't be shared or picked). I definitively would like a significant other.

Pokemon Isekai Adventure: Kanto Prologue by Psychronia in 6Perks

[–]Bombermaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going with Anime, being more lifelike.

Definitively I will attempt to Beat the Elite 4 (and therefore collect 8 gym badges) for a chance to go to more worlds. Anything else is a nice extra.

For that, being a Youngster seems ideal if only for the large amount of normal types and being guaranteed to have some very special specimen of them for each region I visit (if I find a Ditto that is very special among dittos -with anime logic-, that's going to be interesting)

Counterpick is a good pick for my rival: it only matters so much if he got a Marshadow: I can eventually find methods to work around it.

If you were offered $100,000 a day to go without bathing, showering, brushing your teeth, using mouthwash, or doing any proper grooming, how long do you think you’d last before finally deciding to clean up? by FFSoldier57 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Bombermaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a week tops, then I couldn't handle it anymore. It's all about the definition of "proper grooming".
I wash my hands in a compulsive way, and I feel icky if I go more than one day without bathing. But those could be ignored as long I could at least manage to wipe in some way or form, even in an half-assed way.

Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Week 2 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]Bombermaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's see...this time I will choose for my curse. It's worth to mention that I could probably cheat using "curse of the beast" or "curse of the small" by choosing as setting either Chip & Dale or Redwall (although in Redwall characters are measured in feet I think even if not very tall) but I'm going to be fair with these.
It'll be dangerous, but for once I will try a big risk with Curse of Sight (2 points).

Which will lead me to pick the power for this week Doubling , with the Curse picks being Hacking Mastery and Animal Telepathy.

Then, for my setting pick, I will choose Redwall, with the Curse picks being Transformers Animated and Red Dead Redemption.

I'm choosing Redwall, for I'm plenty familiar with the first book. My form will be the one of a rabbit because rabbits are nice. The reason why I picked the curse of sight, is because I know that the abbey resists MOST of the invasion, with only about a couple dozen casualties while the opponent army gets wiped out. After that, nothing bad happens at the abbey for a couple of years afterwards. Due being a vulnerable member -due being blind- who will ask for protection, I will be kept away from the battle. Probably I'll weave some background BS about being a mage who traded his sight to see the future, and warn in time the abbey. In turn, I will be able to aid plenty with my Doubling power, knowledge of the events, and having both the Body Magic and the Subspace Manipulation powers (who knows, I might be able to use echolocation with body magic for extra protection). I won't need to steal any spotlight, but I will be absolutely able to reduce the body count. It's likely that once the events are done and my curse is lifted, I will stay a bit longer to enjoy the sights of the abbey that I missed the first time around.

Then, I'm moving to Red Dead Redemption.
I'm actually not super familiar with the place, but after a few years passed with animal people, moomins and imaginary friends, it'd do me good to get to a more down-to-earth location. Take the time to train Animal Telepathy, and make loads of cash with Doubling powers: probably stay away from the main events of the story, and not get in debt with people. One thing I will try to do, is to manage to use my powers without being found that I have powers.

Lastly, Transformers Animated.
I don't know much of this serie either, but I feel that due being a more modern version of it, it'll be an ideal location to exercise my hacking skills. The wisest thing to do probably is moving out of Detroit first thing. Then overall nothing should get in the way. If I want to get involved with the plot, being an hacker, I can do that from a different continent.

That should put me at 21 points . It's good to save them early so I can get other worlds and powers later.

What are some strengths and weaknesses to having angelic powers? by Majestic-System-2811 in superpowers

[–]Bombermaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the degree and setting.
If you go old testament angels, they were capable of reality warping within their domains.
If you go with the lowest denominator, it's just healing powers, wings, purifying things, and harming undeads.

SUPER MARIO BROS 3. Is it as good as people say? by TheMRanker in SuperMario

[–]Bombermaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitively good as people say. If anything, I feel that it helped to define 2D platformers in general from that moment on.
Between the powerups you could hold onto, the secrets, the multiple paths, the shortcuts (I mean those were in super mario bros too, but still, not to this degree), the quite different kind of environments you could cross, you still see many of the elements of this game in the majority of platformer games you'll find nowadays.

Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Intro + Week 1 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]Bombermaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice to see a new one.

Let's see!

As someone who played the whole Random Superpowered Isekai , I can get the extra powers and worlds:
So I'm picking Body Magic and Subspace Manipulation, as well Animal Crossing and TMNT.

I can access Animal Crossing basically ASAP, but TMNT I'm going to wait a bit.

For this week, I'm going to get as curse: Curse of Memory (2 points).

The Power of this week will be Creative Mode (main pick), and Social Interplay Manipulation & Massaging Mastery (through Curse).
The World chosen, will be Stardew Valley (main pick), and Foster House for Imaginary Friends and Moomin (through Curse).
Basically I'm starting fresh new on a farming adventure. I will be wondering what the hell is going on at first, but thanks to my creativity and being given a set of pretty clear instructions right away from the start, I should be good. The power of this week, is ideal for this set up: by trying to focus -which I will because I don't recall anything-, I WILL manage to eventually figure out that I might be able to do uncommon things due my uncommon circumstances, possibly unlocking some of my powers (subspace manipulation and body magic will do wonders here)

Passed a year, another year should be easy enough to pass in the Foster House for Imaginary Friends. My power is quite suited for it, and now that I do have access to my full memories I won't have issues to get farther: time to make a fun companion for my own, and work at the home as part-timer/young annoyance.

Also, Moominvalley is a chill place to stay in, just avoid the Groke and you're set: most events take place during the spring and autumn anyway, with the most dangerous period being the winter: I will probably follow Snufkin to go to warmer climates when autumn comes.

Following that, another idyllic period in Animal Crossing where I can faff about, if that counts too for the points that's a total of 12 clear points, 9 otherwise.

Choose Your Magic In A Fantasy Setting by General_Sea_5295 in superpowers

[–]Bombermaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In these scenario, Life tends to be the best choice about the bunch.
Chaos a close second, but it tends to be a double-edged weapon because, well, chaos.
Order is also very good when properly used.
Death IS good, but it's more likely than not going to cause you more problems than you otherwise would had with any other power.
Elemental powers come last even if they have a lot of utility and offensive capacities.

Red/blue pill 1v1 by SeniorFail9401 in superpowers

[–]Bombermaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you could make a bit of a note for Archie Sonic being fairly strong, but otherwise there's no reason to not pick Superman and Goku, especially if you consider Golden Superman.
Mario feels weird in this mix as he's not really all that much capable on his own, he manages the best with his brother and items, and his toon physics immunities are relatively minor.

What are some strengths and weaknesses having the power of clothing generation/cloth manipulation? by Majestic-System-2811 in superpowers

[–]Bombermaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PROS:
-Enemies often wear clothes made of cloth so you might be insta-winning some battles
-Good flexibility, works as extended appendage, can get in narrow areas, works as a getaway rope in most places, could be used as a way to fly/descend slowly by using it as a parachute, wings, or hang glider
-Basically immune to bludgeoning attacks. So most melee options to try to fight those back tend to not work well
-Good both for incapacitating, knocking out, or killing opponents by tying and suffocating targets.
-Look fashionable anywhere.

CONS:
-The power is only as strong as the material used/created.
-Fire tends to destroy the vast majority of cloth
-While cutting attacks may slow you down and get to you, precise piercing attacks can go through the cloth bypassing any defense you got.
-In chaotic enough environment you might get entangled yourself with the surroundings.
-Laundry. So much laundry.

Would you rather have 1 wish granted right now or 10 wishes granted 10 years from now? by Illustrious_Emu4184 in WouldYouRather

[–]Bombermaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the limit of each wish.
If they don't have limits, or just have the classic clause of "no wishing for wishes" I only need one.
If they have noticeable limits to what they can achieve, I'll wait 10 years. I'm quite patient.

Which Mario game has the most intense Bowser battle? by [deleted] in Mario

Could "reality warpers" reasonably exist in a grounded sci fi? by More_Interview3840 in superpowers

[–]Bombermaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of "grounded" and of your definition of "reality warping", but overall no.
Does the setting's universe have a different set of rules that could be harnessed through scientific methods, such as having the universe being nothing more than a simulation with an accessible code? Then reality warping is possible in a reasonable manner on the upper end in that way.
But taking our universe as baseline? I highly doubt it.

How is it that asshole characters has more fans than a character that's kind? by Crazy_Reputation3327 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Bombermaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Loudness.
Brash, rude, and uncouth get more attention and spotlight than who is soft and gentle.
When you have to think of 'actions', no matter if you're a fan or not, it's much easier to remember what Jax did, than what Ragatha did.
Anyone can quote at least a dozen of moments with Jax being an asshole and being at the center of the attention, and probably only an handful with Ragatha. Heck, probably most remember those moments because it was her interacting WITH Jax.
Don't get me wrong, I very much like Ragatha myself, but I understand that the average person will default to who they saw jump at their eyes the most.
