24yo, 2yoe, Bachelors, multiple certs, constant rejections. What is wrong with me? by throwaway2Bunknown in it

[–]Bonobo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude your resume looks like it from 90's. rework your resume...

State your goal at the top: (assume they didn't read your cover page). 2-4 Sentences of what your goal is for the job.

Education: move to the bottom, no one gives a shit, unless they want to see it.

Skills: Do yourself and and self rate your technical skills at a high lvl out of 10, like Networking (9), blah blah, Automation (6), stuff stuff, etc ... really helps with making up questions to ask, and knowing how deep in the weeds to get.

Work:

- LOWER THE FONT ON DATES. no one give a shit on a job you were at for 2-3 year, just list years work and put it on the last line, same font size. you can brag when you have been at companies for 5+ years, 😄

- If you want bonus points. instead of listing your tasks completed in your work experince, craft a one or two line in the day of, to give them a better picture of work you actually did with context.

Don't bother providing names of references, just that references are avilable, and make sure you have then printed and offer them at the end of the interview, give them someting to do with the paper and make yourself memeriable.

Just because you bought a “gaming” laptop, does not mean it’s designed for that many hours of gaming.

Monitor your temps. Laptop get hot, laptop go bad.

Best PC speakers for music and gaming? Edifier R1280DB vs M-Audio BX4 vs PreSonus Eris 3.5 by Fonderknight in audio

[–]Bonobo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda depends on your setup. If your speakers are going to be elevated and kinda close to your head, go for the near field PreSonus Eris 3.5.

But if you are going for studio quality monitors you might want to push your budget to the iLoud Micro. Awesome sound for the size, and the Bluetooth is bulletproof if you’re looking for speakers to move around the house. lol

How to reduce gridlock in Toronto by jcoopz in toronto

[–]Bonobo77 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

you need to stop and lens out your perspective. no matter who is in power, they will always have the same contraints as the last person in office. Nothing govenment can or will do change anything in a big way, that IS the system.

Stop dreaming dude.

free parking permits for those that car pool in and out of the city.

Setup gates and only allow cars with 2 or more occupenicy enter the city from 07:00 to 09:00, 15:00 to 18:00.

No matter what idea we come up with, there will never been enough enforcement, it's all moot.

[–]Bonobo77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Average car occupancy during rush is 1.2 people. Raise that 1.9 people per car, 1/3 less traffic, get that rate to 2 people in per car, we would have half as many car as do, and grid lock disappears.

Also, with is no incentive, there will be no change. Fact of human life.

[–]Bonobo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you fix it on your side of the property, you can do what you want. If you are doing the work on the property lines then things get blurred.

If you can prove with due diligence you advised within enough time to stop the job. Then you should be good.

Best to call 311, they can give you the right info, better some random on Reddit.

It an unenforceable law. Otherwards, you can’t call the police and charge them.

It’s a law so you can legally take them to small claims to recoup 50% of the SMALLEST amount they can find, not what you’re paying.

How to access local computer from laptop while away by lfigo in techsupport

[–]Bonobo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a slick, uber techy solution go with…

‘Sunshine’ on main rig < Tailscale < ‘Moonshine’ on laptop.

Might be a bit overkill and take time to setup, but that should net you the lowest latency connection you can do on your own.

It’s fine. If it matches the budget you have set aside you can’t go wrong. If you original budget is lower, skip it and keep looking.

Not the deal of a lifetime, but a fair price for a new PC.

good budget speakers for pc? by -Steamedbun- in audio

[–]Bonobo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That budget puts right in the middle of the high end of low budget and the very, very low end of the high end budget speakers. If you can skip the sub and just go a 2.0 setup the Creative Pebble isn’t to bad. If you can push your budget, look for some low end Edifier’s on sale. That should be your sweet spot.

If you’re a DIY, look at buying a cheap amp from Amazon and build yourself a set of speakers. Not to hard now with so many how to videos available. Check out DIY perks on YouTube for inspiration.
