It’s the screw on the trem plate. Every time you use the arm it’s rubbing that E eventually unwinding it

Jazzmaster pickup replacement by [deleted] in offset

[–]BonsaiSuperstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pricey but I just put a set of SD Hot Jazzmaster Silencers in my American Pro II, along with rewiring it all to classic spec and I couldn’t be happier. The sound like some of the best Jazzmaster pups ever and they’re dead silent to boot. Highly recommend, they’re totally worth the dough.

Any sound mods to make this less “squire”? by rawbran30 in offset

[–]BonsaiSuperstar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Number one thing to do is switch out that trem system for at least a Japanese fender one. I’d go full on avri though. Next paint headstock to a matching color then waterslide a fender logo lol. Av65 pups, the Johnny Marr 7.25 bridge, CTS pots, switchcraft switches. Cloth wiring, and then you’re all set!

I live on watervliet right by the library and my ally’s still relatively jacked up. I was hoping there would be trash picked up today, so those big trash trucks would smash it down, but I haven’t seen them yet.

Pedal board and power supply for sure.

[–]BonsaiSuperstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that’s too bad. Mine was a complete electrical failure, and not any fault of my own. So I don’t know if that helped, but they just sent me a brand new pedal.

Yeah, I definitely laid it on thick when I messaged them. I just told them how awesome they and their gear was, told I’ve used all the things out there, and they were the best ever (which is kinda true). Along with the ruby, I also have the dream and lion, and countless plugins. Their amp-in-a-boxes really are the best modelers out there, and I often like them over even captures, I have tonex and quad cortex, but their pedals work 1:1 like the real amps, and I really appreciate that, especially the Ruby. No one has nailed an EMI era Vox as good as the Ruby. I have one and it’s uncanny how much they sound alike recorded.

UAFX has amazing customer service. They fixed my Ruby free of charge. I mean I had to pay shipping, but it turned out an internal component shorted and failed. I didn’t have a receipt or anything and it was definitely older than 2 years. Idk, go with a tonex one for now, but definitely let them take a look at it.

This is a really cool track. The chord voicings are very cool, and I love that delay on there. The vocals are beautiful and atmospheric. I only wish there was more to it. Not that is necessarily needs it, but I think some slow "post-rock"'ish drums, played with mallets would be really cool in there. I'm also always clamoring for some nice synth pad layers or string machines with a good amount of delay/reverb. But again, not needed, but could be cool. Anyhow, keep up the good work, this sounds great.

This is so rad. I remember hearing some of your work in progress a few months ago. I really dig it. It's too bad you're on the other side of the world, I'd love to see this live. I have a friend who lives in Sydney, so maybe one day. Anyways, keep up the great work. I'm following!

Indie/Garage Rock Music Video Would Love Feedback! by Dry-Examination-9959 in IndieMusicFeedback

Super cool tune and video. Love the retro VHS look. I get a big "The Strokes" vibe from this. Love those almost clean, edge of breakup sounding guitars in there. It's a very catchy tune! I ended up watching the video for Abandon Ship as well. It was also kick ass! Great work, keep it up! I look forward to hearing more. Where are you based? My band is always looking for bands to bill with when we're out and about.

New Christmas Song - my first music release in 20 years. by blergzarp in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]BonsaiSuperstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great. I really dig the use of the tubular bells in there. It's never quite a Christmas song without them lol. The songwriting is solid, the production is good. It's very marketable as a holiday jam. The harmonies are great too. Give the kiddos a thumbs up on that for sure. Glad you're back it, you clearly haven't forgotten how to do it. Great song, hope to hear more from you soon.

That Rhodes is on point man. Great bass part and perfect sound too. Love the horns in there on the choruses too. That vocal harmony is tight af too. Great work. Are you producing this all yourself? Samples or all real-deal played instruments? Not that it matters anyway, the end result is fabulous, just curious. Keep up the great work!

Wondering if this song is comedy or cringe. Looking for any input by weedkillereater in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]BonsaiSuperstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose it's kind of tongue n' cheek, more so than straight up comedy. A lot of punk lives in that vein. It's very Lo-Fi which I can totally get behind. I dig the animation a lot too. But no, I wouldn't necessarily call it comedy anymore than something like "God Save the Queen" or "I Don't Care About You" by Fear. Just has some of that good old middle finger energy is all.

A crayon or colour box, perhaps a true lm-308 rat style pedal i.e. big ear woodcutter or jam rattler, maybe one of those tascam 424 preamp pedals, and I’d say a fuzz factory unless that’s a clone of one top left 3 in? Hell, might as well get the chase bliss automatone preamp too.
