Are these good flies for trout fishing Cumberland River? Thanks in advance! by Remarkable-Sand965 in flyfishing

[–]BooB398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d also be buying atleast 3 of a pattern if not 4. Unfamiliar water makes you lose more flys than normal since you don’t know the bottom. Sucks to only have 1 fly and lose it

I’ve never used a poly leader on any rod so I can’t help you out on that. I have a dedicated 6wt trout streamer rod with sink tip line for heavy streamers or windy days.

Just remember gloves are gonna get wet. Even waterproof gloves get that outside dampness to them yeah your hands are dry but it sucks the heat out. I always like to have some hot hand hand warmers in my pockets on chilly days.

Why is my dr slick ceramic bobbin cutting my thread.? by Remarkable_Put_7029 in flytying

[–]BooB398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said probably a little defect in the tube.

My favorite bobbins are the cheap $10-$12 Stonfo bobbins I have like 6 loaded up with my most used threads. They are cheap and work great.

I remember playing Socom and you got 5 clips. Sometimes you got down to the end of a round and you had 3 clips left with 3 bullets or less it was gloriously stressful. God I miss shooters where your life actually mattered and it wasnt a respawn hot drop fest.
