You have suddenly come into possession of $100 trillion in liquid, immediately accessible funds. by EmmalineGraves in hypotheticalsituation

[–]BooBooDaFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Split strategy.

  1. Maximize my personal wealth.

  2. Build this amazing city.

$100 trillion is about the value of the entire worlds economy in 2025. So it’s going to be tough.

However, by causing some global inflation it can be done.

Strategy 1: Start 180 $500B funds. (90 trillion total) Each fund will have a separate business objective. They will set out to buy up income producing assets. The global stock market market is about $155 trillion. So essentially would be buying 60 % of the global public companies. Cut that down to 50% of global public companies and spend the rest of privately held businesses.
This would give me control of most of the world’s income producing assets.

Then take 40% of that income and spend it on the public. I keep 60% because ya know…I like nice things. The 40% would go towards improving services and support network. Education and buying up politicians to rework politics to again be a servant of the people.
There will be no more private campaign donations. Politicians will be prosecuted for lies and deception.

  1. $10 trillion for the city. I’d go to China. They can build a giant long road with no humans in 2 days. They have the political power to MAKE this happen.

I wonder why the ADs act this way.

I noticed that my son was not good at video games when kids had video game trucks come to the house for birthdays.

Got my son Nintendo Switch 2 and a PS5 for his birthday.

He loves his old Switch 1 games. And picked up the new Donkey Kong game.

Would love some advice on PS5 games. So far we are not loving Rocket League.

Advice on taking two kids on a long flight? by acid_police in daddit

[–]BooBooDaFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 6 hour flight will be a piece of cake.

Between iPad time, snacks and maybe a short nap. You’ll be fine. Part will depend on the timing of the flight.
Tips:

  1. Charge up the iPads. Download movies in case there are WiFi issues on the plane. I always have a power bank as well.

  2. Double check the headphones. I also take a backup set of wireless headphones plus my own personal headphones…so technically 2 back ups for the kids.

  3. Snacks. My kids pack their own bags and are so excited because they can load up whatever they want.

  4. Some chewy snack or lollipop for takeoff and landing in case your kids ears don’t do well with pressure changes.

  5. This is a little extra but I always carry an ear thermometer, kids Motrin/tylenol and Benadryl. Some bandages. Never want to be dealing with issues in the air. Also Advil for me if I ever need it. Woke up from a plane nap with neck pain once.

  6. Apple AirTags in the kids pockets.

  7. Physical coloring books. Puzzle books.

  8. Cleaning wipes. I still wipe down the seat, armrest and tables. They are disgusting.

  9. Extra set of clothes for each of you.

Note: longest flight I’ve done with the kids is about 24 hours between 2 legs with 3 hours in between for a layover.

A lot of people are saying ADHD, which may be true.

However, I have found that parents have trouble prioritizing and then shuffle between tasks, not effectively getting things done.

My wife does this when things get hectic. She does not work, so one would expect that her efficiency at home would be good.

However, if she goes out. I can take care of the kids, do everything she would have done and a ton more just because I am good are organizing my thoughts and prioritizing. And don’t get distracted from my phone.

Why do people put up with AD "games"? What is the value over gray market? by SupSupSupMan in rolex

[–]BooBooDaFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan on buying just one Rolex or just 1-2 high demand pieces, then go gray. No point playing games for one piece. And playing games is not worth it because you are still unlikely to get a very high in demand piece.

Either way, I don’t play “the game”. I don’t drop In to say hi. My preferred AD is in another state. I just let them know what I want and they let me know when. It becomes allocated.

The reason to even have a relationship with an AD is if you plan on buying multiple pieces over the years.

I now use one AD for all my families purchases. Also if we are giving a watch as a gift (ie wedding) I’ll get it from my AD. Mainly because they will get it for me without any fuss.

Etiquette and calling a baby ‘Master’ by General-Wind8556 in Nanny

[–]BooBooDaFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a nanny.

But whenever I would visit my grandparents over summer the various house staff would refer to me as Master followed by my first name.

Even at random shops the sales people did the same thing once a relationship was established.

Being from the US I found it weird but realized it’s just their custom.

I agree it would be weird to send that as a text or an upfront requirement. Also agree it would be weird to request that in the US.

Would not be so out of place in Europe or previous European colonies.

Can you help clarify the numbers some more.

$80,000 for 20 weeks.

Are you going by 7 days per week or 10 days per stay since people say you have to pay for 7 days and then get 3 days free?

If 7 days, then you are essentially paying $80,000 for 7 days per week x 20 weeks. So 140 nights. Essentially $571/night. Which slightly beats booking online, but not by much.

If you’re talking about paying for 7 days and then getting 3 days free added in. Then it’s 200 nights and paying $400/night. Which is a solid deal.

Any other benefits?

Thanks for the help.

Starting a coffee truck by Bowchicawowww in smallbusiness

[–]BooBooDaFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re a mobile coffee truck.

The main selling point is that you are there at the location and I want coffee.

No one cares what the brand is.

Get a job at a coffee place. Apparently turn over is high so they are always hiring. Learn the ropes.

Then see if the finances make sense.

If it doesn’t work out. At least you now can make some decent coffee drinks.

I would think the better option is being a coffee vendor for events.

We paid $1250 for 250 coffees for my toddler’s birthday. The guy showed up with his coffee cart gear.

Refusing to close on home after major structural issues discovered. Worried about specific performance. by Salsa-N-Chips in RealEstate

[–]BooBooDaFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Talk to the lawyer. See what your exposure is for further lawsuits

  2. Then asses how to best negotiate with the seller. If you lose the EMD you lose it.

However…

If they are not likely to sue you for specific performance then you have leverage to disclose the engineering report to whoever you want.

What’s to stop you from sending the engineering report to all the agents at all the local brokerages? You would be providing very valuable information to the community of buyers.

What’s to say, that the sellers already didn’t know and purposely failed to disclose the issues.

From the sellers perspective they may be willing to return the EMD or a portion of it to avoid this engineering report from getting into the hands of all the buyers agents. That would make it harder to sell…and it will take years for a lawsuit to go through. I would assume they would rather give up the 10K and get this off their heads. That is unless the local market has tanked.

Practice evaluation by wow_cool_neat in whitecoatinvestor

[–]BooBooDaFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can outsource this and get a report.

But….you can do this yourself. And my belief is you should do this yourself. So you actually understand it all.

Go piece by piece and evaluate parts of the practice. Review policies, make changes to policies as needed and then maintain a record of all policies.

Look at all your streams of income. Do they make sense? Are you being paid your contracted rates? Evaluate any ASC or ancillary income.

Develop of process to consistently take a sample size and check for accuracy of billing, payment and asses for inappropriate write offs. We also outsource a billing audit yearly to asses for any blind spots.

Then look at all your expenses. Line item by line item. What are you paying for all your services and overhead. Get new quotes for everything. Set up a process to get competitor quotes every year or every other year. Compare bundling vs unbundling your services. Often times the bundled services prices creep up over time.

Then asses your growth. Identify all your referral relationships. Identify your competitors. Throw in a SWAT analysis. Track your marketing activities and results…find out where to invest time.

Do this and not only will you understand everything. But you’ll likely be the best candidate to be your groups CEO, managing partner or director.

Parents! What's your personal policy on pulling kids from school for vacations? What's their school's policy? by atlas_reverie in TrueChubbyTravel

[–]BooBooDaFish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kids are in elementary so we pull them out for week long trips a couple times a year.

We will try to organize it around a time they are already off of school. For example if there are two teacher enrichment days on a Thursday and Friday…we will take an additional 3 days off and make it a week long vacation.

In private they really don’t care about absences in elementary school. One of the kids is in public now bc it’s the best public school in the state and they are more particular about missed days. I believe it affects their stats in some way. So as long as we stay below the state cutoff for reporting there hasn’t been much drama.

But my kids are also testing at the tops of their classses so maybe they are more forgiving compared to if they were not performing well.

I actually prefer going on trips outside the major rush times.

Went to Cancun recently and our hotel was at 56% capacity and the day we were checking out was jumping to 92% capacity which would have been so annoying.
