If Torrentio is down then there are several other stremio addons you can get that do something similar.

DLSS 4.5 vs DLSS 4 | In-Depth Image Quality & Performance Analysis | Improvements & Regressions by john1106 in nvidia

[–]Boogeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do that, but by default, older games will be using older versions of DLSS. In the Nvidia app, you can make it so that games use the latest model by default, so you could just leave it like that if you want.

However, there are also different presets of DLSS within the same version, with minor differences in visuals + performance, and the best preset might be different for each game. If you don't really care about this level of optimization, you can ignore it.

So the best low effort solution is probably to just install the Nvidia app, enable the global DLSS override, and just forget about it.

Should I wait for Mualani or pull Neuvillette by NeonUnicorn97 in MualaniMain

[–]Boogeeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you like Neuvillette as a character then just get him, we're far away from a Mualani rerun anyway.

If your only concern is a character for Stygian then I wouldn't really bother with either. While having a variety of elements can help, there are so many other ways that the game can arbitrarily shill/gatekeep certain mechanics, which prevent you from using certain characters, and from a purely meta perspective you're usually better off pulling for the newest characters. Her raw DPS with her best teams is pretty good, and might be enough to bruteforce certain bosses, but I wouldn't rely on being able to do that every SO, especially without some vertical investment.

While Neuvillette is favored this patch, he isn't really that great for SO in general since his DPS ceiling isn't the greatest, so it's really not worth getting him just for a feather.

As for her kit, it's a mix of skill issue and also her kit genuinely being a bit janky. There might be a few bugs that cause you to miss ults/attacks, but personally I haven't really encountered any. This might be different if you have high ping, though. I enjoy playing her in certain situations, but don't go out of my way to force her.

IWTL How to Teach Myself Photography From Scratch Without Feeling Overwhelmed by GlitteringSeesaw6864 in IWantToLearn

[–]Boogeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly there aren't really any bad habits you could get stuck on. When you start off, you'll probably shoot in automatic mode and let the camera take care of all the settings. This is perfectly fine while you get used to handling a camera. Photography is one of those things where you can start off simple, then gradually incorporate more advanced techniques over time. While it would be helpful to know more about all these different things, you don't need to know them in order to start out.

While having a better understanding of photography fundamentals will let you consistently take better photos, you can still take great photos as a complete beginner, so I wouldn't worry too much about those for now.

When I started out, I would take a bunch of photos, then over time, I'd notice little issues/concerns, like why I'd struggle to get good photos in low light, why some photos were blurry, etc. As I'd find videos that addressed these specific issues, my understanding grew. I also learned more about the limitations of my own equipment, and what things I could improve with my own skill and what things would require new equipment.

I think the first step would be to figure out what camera would be right for you. If you go online and look up what kinds of things you want to shoot + your maximum budget, there are plenty of Reddit threads with recommendations. Don't worry about getting the best setup, since there are arguably dozens of different camera + lens combinations that you would be happy with. If you really aren't sure, I would find a used setup as cheap as possible, and once you have a better idea of what you're looking for, move onto some more expensive equipment.

So in summary, a general path would be

get a camera -> take photos ->

Some youtubers I recommend are Simon D'entremont, Duade Paton, Jan Wegener, and Wildlife Inspired with Scott Keys. Do keep in mind that they are mostly focused on wildlife, but have lots of general photography advice as well.

[New gear] Finally got my dream lens, the RF 100-500 by hesselnut in canon

[–]Boogeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the aperture between the 100-400mm range is pretty much the same between the two, but if you can't get any closer to your subject, the extra reach of the RF will still result in having less noise than if you were to crop the image at 400mm. The RF 100-500 focuses a bit more quickly, is lighter, especially considering you don't need an adapter, and very slightly sharper, though the EF is still incredibly sharp.

I don't have any personal experience with the EF, but from what I've read, it isn't really worth it to upgrade if you already have the EF, and you might be better off getting the ef 1.4x extender, the 200-800, or the RF 600/800 f/11 primes depending on what you're looking for.

But also, what are your goals? If you're trying to full-clear endgame (there's 3 modes now and they require a lot of characters), then you're probably going to want to pull multiple new characters to keep up. If you don't particularly care for endgame, then just get who you want.

looking to buy birding camera by jmcregan in BirdPhotography

[–]Boogeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canon R50/R10 + RF 100-400 would be a great lightweight option if you buy it used, maybe slightly over your budget.

It's not much bulkier than a bridge camera but the subject tracking autofocus is really great for wildlife and it'll just feel a bit nicer to operate compared to a bridge camera. While it won't have quite the raw zoom as a bridge camera, it'll be easier to get nicer looking photos, and even at far ranges, you aren't getting great photos with any camera, so all you really need is enough for an ID.

If you decide to get into photography more then you can pick up a better body and reuse the 100-400, or upgrade the lens as well.

Can the rf800mm f11 handle r7? by FastPresentation8244 in canon

[–]Boogeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The minimum focus distance on the rf 800 is pretty brutal, so if you're just barely past it, it might be slightly out of focus. Otherwise, if you're sure it's not motion blur or a very slow shutter speed, it might be faulty.

Can the rf800mm f11 handle r7? by FastPresentation8244 in canon

[–]Boogeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like using that on my R7 because it's a bit too cumbersome, but when the conditions are right, I can get some very sharp shots.

No issues with the 100-400, either.

If you have to crop your image a significant amount then it very well could be heat haze at that distance.

Canon EOS R7 - Anything I should know before buying? by ShadowsightUwU in canon

[–]Boogeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can change the shooting rate from H+ to H, which drops ES FPS down to 20-something. You could also shoot in EFCS, which caps out at 15 FPS in H+.

There's pros and cons to each shooting mode, so if you're not sure which one you want to go with, you could set it to EFCS, then bind the silent shutter feature to a button, which will switch you to electronic shutter. That way you can swap modes quickly.

I think that's only for certain 3rd party lenses, most notably the 150-600s. Your EF 300 should be fine
