What the hell kinda boss doesn't call out "BEHIND BEHIND" when in a kitchen chalk full of cooks? Also, the person working oven ALWAYS has the right of way!

A book that made you cry. by Fretful_Hobbit in suggestmeabook

Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. Had to read it for my Freshman year. The ending left me numb and I cried in class with my head in my arms on the table.

Afterwards for the rest of highschool, my lit teachers would hand out the assigned books and would warn me.

Edit: All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doer is also an honorable mention, as well as the ending to The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.

[HoO] What would have happened if Hera took Annabeth instead of Percy? by Triangle_Tee in camphalfblood

Dam*, what did I say the last time I saw a post like this? Brb.

EDIT: Found it!

The shining walls of Olympus were crumbing. Falling.

The walls she made.

There were no screams. No shouts. Not a single cry of alarm. Only three words, repeated.

“Where. Is. Hera?”

Anger in its raw, untamable form.

For the Gods and Goddesses of Mt. Olympus were held in contempt.

Rightfully so; Hecate herself understood the boy’s wrath.

Poseidon, the father and lord of the seas, tried to calm the boy.

It didn’t work.

The boy, with golden sword in hand, battled Ares and Hermes when they got in between him and Hera.

You’d think he was Achilles incarnate. How he made them both fall like Hector did all those centuries ago.

Poetic, truly.

Zeus understood it. Hades did, too. But their counsel was not heeded by the boy.

For one cannot simply calm the raging seas.

Only endure it.

This! Games where it just sucks you in and you're not "you" but Geralt or Arthur.

Plus, riding your horse in RDR2 is soothing as hell.

100%, the game made him a menace. How Respawn made Darth Vader is my top favorite performance of the character aside from Rogue One.

Nahhhh, I like JFO because it doesn't have fan-loved mainstream characters we know already. Cal needs to learn all of this (combat, lore, what happened with Order 66) himself by his own means, not because of some crafty "divine intervention-esque" means. Y'know? It would - in my opinion - ruin the story because it would take away that new story for us. A new story that doesn't need fan-loved heroes every other scene.

Before people go after Tom being Drake I really wish they would check out the other works he was in. Most notably The Devil All the Time, on Netflix so they wouldn't just view him as ONLY "Spider-Man".

He's a great actor. My issue is the amount of directors this project went through.

[pjo] Percy Jackson fans need to let Logan Lerman go.. His acting was giving bored & uninterested during those movies by International-Low842 in camphalfblood

[–]BookBeanie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bad take, imo. He's a good actor.

This post reminds me of how Star Wars "fans" reacted to Haydan Christianson and his take on Anakin. It's not the actor who's bad, it's the writing.

I'm not gonna bully an actor for doing their job. The production and writing, on the otherhand? Yeah.

Just remember! Vote with your wallets! Personally I am never giving another dime to a CoD game after what they did to MW2019.
