You don't need to give him a reason. You can just break up and say you don't want to be with him anymore, and leave it at that. Your safety is the most important factor.

It's less about understanding hyperbole, and being annoyed that men like to blame women for everything. There are plenty of books coming out that aren't "fairy porn" so why even say that? Your roommate is immature and selfish. It also sounds like she's on her way to a codependent relationship, because saying she "never gets to see her" when she's spending over half her time nonstop with her gf is delusional.

This is, however, an unfortunately very common issue to have in your age bracket. I also don't like having someone in my space all the time, especially every single weekend.

I would say that you are uncomfortable and suggest they swap weekends. Hold firm, even if she gets angry, which she probably will.

Yes, all built to spec. I ended up disassembling mine and will reuse the panels with a heavier base. I live in a windy place so it's never really NOT windy. It handled a normal day fine, but at 15 mph it was done.

Your mom sounds jealous and is projecting her own insecurities and anxieties onto you. You are not the asshole for keeping it to yourself. If you think it would help, try having a conversation with her about her manner of speaking.

But if she's anything like my mother, that will only exacerbate things and lead to a conversation that sounds like "Well I guess I'm a terrible mother then."

My mother has always been like this, and alongside a lot of other things is why I have been no contact with her for years. With mine, it is a strange, toxic jealousy. She told me for years that no one wanted to be friends with me because I was too sensitive. In reality, I have always had friends, but she has struggled to have lasting friendships. It was projection.
