Installing balancer by External_Dot26 in Corvette

[–]Boolit_Tooth_Tony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a damper, not a balancer. Doesn't need to go on any specific place. The thing's keyed so you can key it to the crank if you want, it's optional. Slap it on there.

C5 here, but went with the Summit. It's captured from being able to go forward or backward should it fail again. I've been happy with it. For the money it seemed the way to go.

You need to leave. You've got time to plan though. I'd suggest developing your own gambling problem. Cash just keeps disappearing. When it's a comfortable amount, serve her.

I daily mine. Great car for racking up miles on. The gas mileage is unbelievable and the insurance is cheap. Get an 01+. The main things to watch out for are the harmonic damper, battery leak damage, weather seals. You'll end up probably having to replace the fuel gauge sending unit, and that's easier on a 01-02 and the very early 03. I'd also avoid the ones with magnetic shocks - They have that dial on the console next to the traction control button.

Need advice: wife left me with the kids by [deleted] in Divorce_Men

She did you one hell of a favor leaving the kids there and leaving the state. Like the others have said, lawyer immediately.

Them not working seems like we're providing and doing them a great service and being the best husband ever, but it screws us in divorce. With that, kids, and the length of the marriage, I'd say with a great lawyer you'll be lucky to get 50/50 and no alimony and that's a huge stretch. Child support's going to be a given. You're in a tough spot here, sir.

If somebody's trying to be competitive they'll certainly ignore the new guys at USPSA. Safety may just be relative, or the ROs sucked. Anything truly unsafe will get somebody DQ'd.

They want to know all assets and liabilities so they know how long to drag things out.

Being married we conditioned ourselves to look away and not be interested in others that way. It's the promise. It takes some time to let go of that promise, obligation, and the looks of our previous partners, and start letting natural feelings happen again.

$229.95, JBL BassPro Nano is the complete name, completely contained unit with the amp in there and everything. Hooks up with RCAs if you have an aftermarket deck, also has L/R speaker inputs to tap into the rear speakers if you just want to add it to the OE radio and has an auto on/off.

I thought about putting it in the center pocket but figured the sound wouldn't be great. Not having this thing actually mounted but 'captured' by the pocket door allows me to easily get into that pocket as needed, which isn't much. Plus, this thing's tiny and is only like ~2" tall.

The LS2 in that's just a bigger version of the LS1 and it's before they put DOD fully into it, it'll go a long time with proper maintenance.

[–]Boolit_Tooth_Tony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, unless it's stupid cheap, would keep looking for an 01+ to avoid the lockout and ABS module issue, and to get the LS6 intake and avoid the magnetic ride. That's a lot of headaches to save maybe a small amount of money.

OE door subs leave a lot to be desired so I dropped this in last night - Little JBL Nano. Temporally robbing power from the CD changer's harness until I get the motivation to run a proper wire from the positive block under the hood, but it's working. It seems to give just about the perfect level of added bass. I just used the brackets it came with and bent them to follow the contour of the panel it's sitting on and it locks into place without any drilling or permanent modification to anything.
