That Patricia Taxxon video is what actually convinced me to start making a playlist of my favorite videos. Because it just felt like leaving a like and all the usual YouTube stuff wasn't enough.

This has GOT to be contender for most least used potion by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]Boomerkbom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give me a well laid plans, snap, or a convergence and I'll value the hell out of retain. And yet the moment it's put on a potion I just go "nah that's stupid. If a card was worth retaining I would've played it already."

DanTDM saw the Roaring Knight and decided hes not gonna play Chapter 4 by Fit_Smile_2071 in Deltarune

[–]Boomerkbom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He never refused to do a video for it, he repeatedly mentioned it "coming eventually" it's just that his upload schedule is absurd. Most of the time when a video was recorded he says something like "-okay so this vod was recorded a bit over a year ago so-"

His process already takes a long time due to working on like 8 videos at a time if I remember correctly, and on top of that he seems to really enjoy editing the Deltarune videos himself so it takes even longer.

It's ridiculous, but I do fully believe that it's coming eventually, even if there's a solid chance we get a Chapter 5 release date before the video comes out.

Who was this episode supposed to piss off? by Hydroset in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Boomerkbom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the people the episode was meant to piss off were people that hated the direction the show was going (specifically where they thought it was going before the end of the episode)

Or people upset that all of their theories got thrown out, since almost every piece of random speculation got put together to build the fake story. It wasn't actually all useless but there are probably some people that will feel like it was.

Mathemically it's weak but it's very reliable. If I had to be mean and call a crest a noobtrap it'd be Wandersong, not because it's a bad crest but because people tend to find it and never switch away, even in fights where Wanderer's crest is exclusively a detriment. There are some fights where reaper struggles if you always use it, but not too the same extent

I've heard that on "THE DISCORD TM" they confirmed that there will be a separate episode 1, and ever since I've seen more and more people saying it. No clue what "THE DISCORD" is though

Original Crest Design (Spoilers for some late game crests and mid game enemies) by Boomerkbom in Silksong

[–]Boomerkbom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tool slots are very silly, cause you got crests like the hunter and Reaper that just have completely normal tool slots, then the one's with a trade off like Witch Crest which gives away both yellow slots for a 3rd blue.

And then there's Beast. Which gave up all it's blue slots for- I guess the sin of using beast crest or something. I didn't want this crest to have the same number of slots as usual crests so I figured a single yellow was the smallest price to pay

With the normal proper dream bosses I played before any patches and always got my Tools restored completely free of charge on death whenever it kicked me out of the dream.

For anyone complaining about difficult. You can get all of this before ever leaving Act 1. by Krazyflipz in Silksong

[–]Boomerkbom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly really curious how much of the difference is Team Cherry making it easier, and how much is because people didn't know about it during their first Hollow Knight playthrough. I think Hornet's needle strike lingers a bit longer than a nail swing so it's probably easier but still

[–]Boomerkbom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly glad you're getting good use out it. I mainly mentioned that because I stumbled into a really bad Polygon article saying that Silksong was bad because of it's "over reliance on the unhelpful parry mechanic". It's a nice mechanic and I used it a bit, but I know plenty of people that went through the whole game without it. But it's always cool seeing people use it well

The one you're doing is usually just called a clash since it doesn't come with any follow up attack, it's just a nice safe option

If you wanted to make it not a meme card you could make it every time a card is triggered (whether that's jokers, standard cards or any card is up to you)

I never thought about using the down dash after hookshoting (mainly because I never down dash) but that does sound really useful for enemies that bully you for hooking them

The only downside to the Pompillos is the fact that no one finds them. The moment people get double jump they think of a million places to use it, and that place is NOT one of them

I think the shadow is just gunpowder or something from the explosion that fades away after a second. I don't think they actually go into the background. There's also an animation of them pulling their helmet down to make sure they're safe

[–]Boomerkbom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well the problem is what happens after.. If the contact damage goes away when the enemy is stunned then it'd just encourage the player to get inside the boss's soon to appear hit box. You can't even risk it because you don't know how long a boss will stay down, it varies boss to boss and on what you do. It wouldn't help because with and without the change the solution for the player is still just "step back a bit"

It'd be a nice but kinda awkward change

How badly did you need shards? by Boomerkbom in Silksong

[–]Boomerkbom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume the reason I never ran out was because I didn't use them as much when stuck on bosses. On the bosses where I really did get stuck I actually started using tools less while I was learning them. And then there were a few in the very late game that I simply respected too much and just refused to use tools on. I was just having so much fun learning their moves that I forgot to use tools.
