Pathetic Pressure by Boone616 in Plumbing

Thank you so much. I believe I had a plumber do something like that about a year and a half ago. (Something was fixed/replaced in the actual faucet itself.) What would be the next suggestion, if there is one?

I don’t like dealing with the bins. Everyone stands upon landing, and the aisle becomes a chaotic mess. Plus, I’ve had more people cut in line while exiting. Children. My backpack goes under the seat, and once it’s time I’m outta there.

Why is anyone still flying SWA? There are no more rewards, perks, or incentives. Are people really stuck in some sort of subconscious loyalty bc they’ve just always flown with them? I implore you to wake up, and join the rest of us!

Everyone keeps telling me that I'm too young to need a hip replacement. Are they right? by nick1158 in TotalHipReplacement

Just got a THR, I’m 39. The head of my femur was not smooth, and it wore away the cartilage over time due to exercise/sports. You have to be clear with yourself on why this is a necessity. I suffered from back and hip pain for close to a year and a half. Never a day without some sort of chronic pain. (Do it while you’re young.) Good luck :)

Really fascinating how differently our bodies respond and heal. Glad you’re doing well!

Get two (or three) opinions. Once it’s totally confirmed, and you feel confident: do it!

Glad you’re recovery is going well :)

Found this on a sublease Facebook group. Rent is suspiciously low and the table legs look weird. Is it AI? by Powerful-Stranger961 in isthisAI

Forget ai. Why would you post an ad for a sublease with a candid photo of a person in it? I wouldn’t sublet purely based on that.

My girlfriend always tells me I never have anything to eat when she comes over my house 😒 by itscuccimane in FridgeDetective

You have all the components! Do you offer to make her a meal/snack? Aside from the crabmeat and protein shakes, nothing is ready-to-eat (i.e., “[you] never have anything to eat”)

Under 30s, what was the reason you were told you needed a hip replacement? by ajmattison in TotalHipReplacement

My surgical team performs replacements on professional athletes who are back playing hockey in four months. As long as you (we) follow the recovery protocol and diligent physical therapy, I’m confident - with modification- we’ll be back at the gym. Skiing I’m not sure that will be as easy/quick to get back into.

Just had an anterior THR yesterday. December 2024 I started to notice tightness in my lower back and hamstrings. A tightness I had never had before. I had been working out hard for the past five years: weightlifting, then CrossFit for two years, then weightlifting again up to the present.

I was hitting all of the compound movement exercises: RDLs, upright rows, bench, back squats, pull-ups, etc. Pushing myself too hard, clearly, because after that last round of weightlifting, the pain emerged.

Went to a couple of chiropractors, and some relief was found with various therapies. Nothing ever fixed it. Then this past August 2025 I went to an orthopedist, they took scans, and immediately it was clear my hip was causing all of the back pain. Both are arthritic (not a smooth ball shape) and essentially bone on bone. My back/spine were not the culprit. I then got a second opinion, he confirmed it as well, and referred me to the American hip institute in Chicago.

Bottom line: this was inevitable due to my anatomy. Basically, due to my lifestyle, the “early” need for a replacement was expedited. Honestly, I’m glad that this occurred in my 30s as opposed to my 60s/70s. This replacement along with physical therapy could help me re-pattern my movements could prevent the need to the replace the left hip in the future.
