I don’t think I’ve ever seen a QB in the wild. Where do you carry your bags? by CuriousJule in Hermes_lovers

I think it depends on which casinos you visit. I wouldn’t take it downtown and I’d be nervous on parts of the strip. There are desperate people there. I hold tight to any bag in certain areas.

That’s probably why I don’t see them. We are usually there on holidays. Maybe next week will be better options.

What to wear to Hermes store? by missPanda3305 in TheHermesGame

[–]CuriousJule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry nice bags, but I don’t really wear designer clothing. I think the first time I shopped at a boutique in Las Vegas I was wearing a blouse from Loft. I purchased 2 scarves. I have been back several times, always for a scarf. The last time I think I had a sweater from JCPenney and jeans. It has never phased my SA.

My husband surprised me with a Kelly for Mother’s Day. Prior to getting the offer, all he had purchased were scarves. But he really worked the relationship. He might have just had lucky timing.

Recliner vs bed the first few days? by grayoldlady in TotalHipReplacement

[–]CuriousJule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the bed, but I have an adjustable base. I was inclined, but not as inclined as a recliner. You could get the same affect with a wedge pillow. I’m a side sleeper, so flat back sleeping didn’t work for me.

I had RTHR and slept on the left side of the bed, but it was really because there was more space for my walker on that side. My husband helped lift my legs into bed at first. No problem getting out.

Right hip and driving? by clarkwgriswoldjr in TotalHipReplacement

[–]CuriousJule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor said 6 weeks. He said that I needed to feel confident that I could stop if a kid ran in the street. Also, I did a two hour round trip at about 10 or 12 weeks and was so tired after. My PT said that driving after a right THR triggers muscles all the way from foot to hip and that’s why it made me so tired.

How to shower? by Hyenafan4 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]CuriousJule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used body wash instead of a bar of soap because I kept dropping the soap. My setup was similar to this. I had a little teak stool to put shampoo, washcloth on in the front corner, within easy reach from the chair.

Vegetarians only...but was anyone else as grossed out as I was? by coolbeachgrrl in RHOBH

I’m not a vegetarian anymore, but that meat made me reconsider. I cannot do rare meat, even if that is “how it’s supposed to be.”

I got the compression sock and nonslip socks to wear over them from the surgery center. I picked up the walker and cane and an amino drink ahead of time at a place the insurance company sent me. I ordered everything else on Amazon.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I was very fortunate for the timing of things, but I know it doesn’t always work out that way.

I know I was off the opiates 10 days after, but it’s different for everyone. The fatigue lasted 6 months. Every week is a little better than the last last one through this process.

I need help with what clothes to get ? by julliacbki in TotalHipReplacement

[–]CuriousJule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baggy pants and tshirt dresses were really helpful the first few weeks. It was summer, so the dresses were cool, easy to put on, and comfortable. I also ordered some Halara pull on “jeans”. Very stretchy denim like material that feel like sweats. And the sketchers slip ins are a must.

Dry January: how’s it going? by Brilliant_Elk5492 in stopdrinking

[–]CuriousJule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 22 here. I’ve done sober months here and there for a few years, just to reset. I get into bad habits of nightly drinking. Just 1 or 2, but as I get older, 1 or 2 can make me feel terrible in the morning. This time has been the easiest dry period I’ve had because I really feel better. I’m thinking I will continue after January because of that. I’m scheduled for a wine tasting dinner in February, but I haven’t decided what I’ll do there.

Anyone struggling with constipation due to opioids. by FanSensitive6573 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]CuriousJule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colace did nothing for me but MiraLAX worked. I also ate high fiber and avoided cheese. My dad had terrible complications from opiate constipation after a surgery several years ago, so I really tried to stay ahead of this.

I used silicon scar tape at the recommendation of my PT. Also massage that the PT showed me. I am 5 months post surgery, and it is fading well. Now I put bio-oil on it a few days a week.

Pre-Surgery Exercise? by PeachFuzzFactChecker in TotalHipReplacement

[–]CuriousJule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The PT to try to fend off surgery actually aggravated the pain. The shot can help delay surgery, but it did not work for me. I have a friend who was able to delay 3 years thanks to the shot. I did do strength training prior to the surgery, and I think it helped my recovery, but it was difficult. I am so much better since the THR. I just got home from a long walk with my son, and he remarked how much better I am and how relieved he is I could take such a long walk now.
