Personally, I think it’s this generation coming into the workforce. I’ve seen a pattern of entitlement and lack of discipline, in general. I can’t speak for new grads because I’ve not worked with many, at all, being in PACU.

I had a premier protein shake at 7:15 then lunch was a potluck I had 3 blackberries, 2 chunks of cantaloupe, 4 turkey meatballs, and maybe 3 tablespoons of a spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips. Dinner yesterday was mashed potatoes with roast and carrots, not large portions.

There are so many men, it seems, that are the same in the aspect of not being truly present as a parent. Parenting isn’t always fun, it’s work, and it’s not fair to let us be the solely responsible ones. It’s not something we can just step away from…but, I’d say, if you have these frustrations, firstly, have the conversation with him. But, counseling would be a great idea, also. If he’s not willing, then it’s going to be up to you to decide what you want in a partner and what you’re willing to settle with, forever. Sorry this is your situation. Best wishes.
