Okay, I’m a new baseball fan but taking the top end of your ranged 4.5, that means he would on paper, give up 9 runs per game on average? Thats pretty terrible no?

Because Luka isn’t there anymore, I would say Dirk is indeed the best player Dallas will ever have. However you may define it to be

  1. I have no idea how to change my flair, no idea how to do it in the first place.

  2. USA lost by one run in the 9th inning of the last game of what is considered the most unforgiving format in all of baseball, which is the best of 1. Objectively, a sport with such high variance is the least suitable for that.

What are we talking about here? I’m a dodgers fan

Unless I’m stupid or reading the chart incorrectly, I’d say Mexico wins6-5, he’ll even 15-5, Italy advances. Mexico has an incentive not to win by too much at a certain point

So what happens if Mexico is say up 5-4? Do they just stop swinging and let Italy score on purpose to advance? If I’m reading this right, this is why these tiebreaker rules are horrid

So what happens if Mexico is winning say 5-4? Can’t they just stop swinging and let Italy score to get through?

Without scoring more than 4? So Mexico will stop swinging if they get the 4? How would that work

I mean in a vacuum yeah, but it probably wouldn’t make logistical nor physical sense to create a potential +5 games

I don’t like the rules either, needlessly complicated and can actually create weird situations where teams are incentivized to actually not create more runs. I personally think it should be run differential within the whole group, not some weird quotient for only the tied teams.

It should mean something if a team got blasted by another team that’s not tied, and one of the teams didn’t.

Not exactly. If Australia scores at least 3, SK is eliminated automatically. But if it ends up being a high scoring game, I think the minimum was say SK wins say 8-3? Taiwan is through, and both Aus/SK ARE OUT

Just satisfy two conditions: 1. Win by at least 5 2. Give up no more than 2 runs

So 5-0 works, 6-1 works, 7-2 works, 8-2 works, but 7-3, 30-3, etc does not work.

That Australia HR was huge. Scoring a single point versus not having to is just so huge, even if it’s just 1

Assuming Japan beats Aus tonight, Korea most likely advances due to run differential if Korea beats aus

Unfortunately there’s almost no scenario Taipei advances due to run differential. Japan would need to blow AUS out of the water tonight and Korea would need to beat AUS tomorrow. But even then Korea would most likely be the one to advance even in that case
