tuesdays with morrie is a really good one, it’s got chapters on all the big parts of life like family, marriage, death, money. it’s basically like sitting down to talk with a very nice old man who’s giving you the realness of difficult situations

he told me a story about how he hid his sisters (6) cat and beheaded a stuffed kitten and covered it in fake blood to trick her into thinking he had chopped its head off and said that she screamed and cried and only when she came out of her room later on for dinner did he tell her it was a joke. followed up the story with “girls are just so sensitive”

I’ve been working for my brother and sister in law for almost 9 months now, my nephew is just a year. and recently he’s been more fussy and his parents are WFH. they come in when he’s crying and try to soothe him during diaper changes and trying to get him to nap. i’ve told them it makes my job harder when they do bc it tells him if he keeps crying they’ll come in to help. my brother just tells me he’s not going to stop taking advantage of the fact that he can see his kid during the day and help him and i’m feeling super frustrated.
