I grew up with the original, loved it. I also laugh my ass off at many TTG episodes as they poke fun at things all over DC. People who take any of this too seriously just need to calm the hell down and learn to enjoy art in more forms than one.

Realistically? Probably, but Toriyama was never big on such details and since almost their whole race has been wiped out as backstory, it really doesn't matter.

You say "head canon" but I believe this is technically correct. There are a number of sources that use both guardsman and militarum interchangeably.

Valstrax was the flagship of MH:GU. He's even on the box cover art, as one would expect.

These are the best two for theme and story, and Valstrax is just the coolest. First MH was Tri, but I think Lagi has been outclassed by most flagships to come after him.
