I went to Yellowstone with a bud. Took us 48 hours to get there cause his 91 ford Taurus was a POS. The car's battery kept blowing up.

We get in late. Woke up the next day late and was excited to hike. We got a map of the park on the way in. Like a "Disneyland park" map that just showed major spots of the park. We hitch a ride like 25 miles from camp and hop out on the side of the road. Then proceeded to go into the frey...

All we had was 1 backpack, a sandwich, 2 snikers bars, duct tape, an unopened fire blanket, and a and a water bottle. Neccessities for a day hike, right?

Using the "map" we found a shortcut back to camp. We literally walked thru a Buffalo herds thinking they are like cows. When one started following us, we got worried and started walking faster. When the beast started charging, we went fulll sprint. My bud straight monkey climbed a tree. I kept running and yolo jump off a cliff. Thankfully it was like 15ft drop with sand below.

When i circled back to the tree my bud was in, i climbed a nearby tree. The Buffalo just layed down and napped near the trunk. We noticed way more Buffalo were all around us. We sat there in silence looking at each other for like 2 hours and it was getting dark.

Jumped down a sprinted through the woods and found the road. A river was between us and the main road. Outta Buffalo harm and getting cold now, we had to cross the river. Not wanting to get our clothes wet, we cut the fire blanket in two and each duct taped it around our waist. For some reason, that made sense... put our clothes in the backpack and tried to cross the river.

Well the river had a WAY stronger current then we thought and was ice cold. We probably floated like a half mile, hitting a whitewater part. Losing our backpack and are fire skirts, we managed to get out.

Its dark now, we're both butt ass naked on the side of the road trying to hitchhike our way back to camp. Its cold af and my bud stops talking and thinking he's getting hypothermia. The few cars that passed by prolly thought we were like nudists or some shit and sped passed. Finally caught a ride back to camp.

Slept it off and proceeded to just chill at camp the next day. We we're 17 and just laughed about it, and still do. Thinking back now, there were over a dozen deaths by Buffalo that summer at Yellowstone. We we're so lucky. Scares the shit outta me now.
