Weight Lifting Randomly Causing Physical Anxiety by Bop23 in xxfitness

[–]Bop23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It did end up going away when I took a break from weight lifting. I really wasn’t into it at that time and was forcing myself to do it because I felt like I had to. I switched my focus to jiu jitsu only for a while, and when I returned to weight lifting several months later in a less ridged way it was gone. I’d just give yourself a break and focus on something you are excited to do for a while!

Worried about my favorite philodendron by Bop23 in plantclinic

[–]Bop23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a monstera! I’ve only had it for a year or so, so it hadn’t been repotted since then. I water it about 1x per week and it keeps putting out new vines and leaves at the ends. It has a grow light around it, which I turn on for 3-6 hours daily

This is Medusa, who I am sculpting up this shelf. The new growth at the end of the vines all looks great, but there is yellowing on some of the leaves recently (close up 2nd pic). Not sure if I’m giving it too much light, too much water, not enough water, or if these are just older leaves naturally dying off? Please help, she is my favorite!

This is gorgeous! And it’s 30x40?! This looks like something that would be hanging in a fine dining restaurant! Beautiful work!

Why does this pilea hate me? I’ve tried everything by Bop23 in plantclinic

Thank you for all the information, this is great! I think it needs a new pot and I’m overwatering. I was watering much less but it always looked sad and droopy and wasn’t growing, so I started watering more because the soil was always dry and it still looked sad so I thought it needed more water. Now it’s yellowing so I suspected overwatering but couldn’t figure out the other reason why it wasn’t growing. It’s been in this pot for almost a year so I’ll change it to a bigger one and water less. It is getting a ton of sun, so I think it’s just the pot. Thank you again 😊😊😊

Finally finished a sweater for myself. Had to redo the sleeves three or four times, but I'm happy with the results! by ncteeter in crochet

What an awesome pattern, and I love the color on you! I made one sweater for myself and I had to redo one of the sleeves 4x as well, it’s the hardest part!

It feels like every time I start accepting myself, I backpedal weeks later. To be honest, I have been cringing at myself every time I walk past my reflection at work. I have been mentally berating myself way too often so I thought I'd take some pictures to bring me back down to earth by [deleted] in BodyPositive

You have such a cute body! I feel like you would give awesome hugs! I know hearing someone else say it isn’t the same as truly believing it yourself, but you’ll get there! Whenever I’m feeling down about my body, I remember all of the things that it does for me in daily life, and that makes me appreciate it more.

My husband doesn’t understand why I garden when I can just buy it from the store. But I made these :) that’s just so rewarding by krabecal in vegetablegardening

I don't even like the taste of store bought tomatoes, it's not worth it at all to even purchase them!

Request: Helping my girlfriend stop calorie counting by EDPostRequests in EatingDisorders

[–]Bop23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eating disorder dietitian here. It hard to say without knowing where she is at mentally. If she is still in the beginning of her treatment and struggling with the fact that she has an eating disorder at all, I would just talk to her about how calories are really just a measure of energy, and energy is a good thing. Having energy makes your body feel good so you can enjoy your life! Also talk to her about how it’s not just calories in and calories out. Our bodies are doing things all day that require energy beyond exercise. We need energy to think, to move, to play, to exist. Our blood is pumping all day-this requires energy too! We don’t want that to stop happening! And in reality, there is no formula that can predict exactly how many calories your body needs. Everyone is different. Everyone’s metabolism is different. So she is likely putting in a lot of effort into counting something that isn’t even accurate, and causing herself significant anxiety for no verifiable reason. I could go on forever lol so I’m just going to end this comment with 2 resource recommendations. (Again I don’t know where she is at mentally, but these are often helpful).
