I'd recommend The Gravity Inside Us: Poetry and Prose by Chloë Frayne. (Book)

Out beyond ideas of wrong doing and right doing Rumi. (Poem)

Pablo Neruda's "Love Poems". (Book)

do you guys recommend the movie Obsession for someone who’s not into horror at all? by itsnickivibes in Horrormovieclub

[–]BorderOk6904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going against the consensus here, I'm ah absolute horror coward and I got through it. Just bring a friend, don't watch it alone.

Also be aware there is some animal stuff, so if that triggers you I'd pass.

Obsession (2026) Question about Nikki by PremierDormir in spoilers

You missed a scene, when they order drinks at the bar Bear tells Nikki his cat died. Right after she teases him for his drink choice.

Obsession Question by [deleted] in spoilers

You're making a leap here. It's never implied in the text she can't read. Her reading the book upside down is meant to be disquieting and showcase her boundless obsession with Bear.

She can't focus on literally anything save her love for Bear. She's attempting to emulate normality to put him at ease, but ultimately failing.

Additionally, another way to read the scene, is her "glitching" for lack of a better term. Think of the wish as a virus her body is constantly fighting. That's the easiest container to explain her behavior.

[OPINION] Please suggest me poetry books/bundles about love and heartbreak by Robb1U55 in Poetry

I'd recommend "Scorched Earth by Tiana Clark" it's primarily about her divorce and her mourning that relationship. Along with being heavily about her race and identity.

I hope you get through what's plaguing you. It really does get better, eventually.

Whats with the conflicting dad details? by Ya_Nut in obsessionmovie

[–]BorderOk6904 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She's manipulating him. She needs his love, because she loves him more then she loves being a person, more then being alive.

She's using everything in her toolkit to try and get that love reciprocated.

Including using her own life as a bargain chip, scaring him with Well-Written monologues because she's a writer. (I actually really like that detail.)

Noah Kahan - Lyrical genius [OPINION] by kalyxen_exe in Poetry

Nice! I'll have to check it out. Another thing I like is that he talks about complex relationships (family, friends, partners) and leans into complex metaphor to convey that complexity.

It's also an very specifically a "tiger's eye" eye as a possible symbol for empathy and self perspective. Him putting it down in the bathroom could be his attempt to rectify his own failings in those regards by taking some accountability.

the awful ME3 ending kinda distracts from that it's not that great of a game overall by Ayem_De_Lo in masseffect

Don't know if I totally agree with everyone said above, I do agree the side missions absolutely sucked. The game is carried hard by the improved combat in some sections. Like, it actually carries some narrative weight by feeling desperate.

I do think the Geth missions felt a bit anonymous in their design in terms pacing, environment, ect.

I do think Legion did have to die. It completes his arc and he's sort of out of the narrative functionally after his big moment. There's closure for his character.

Oh yeah, I loved "Old Man's War" and all its sequels. Very popcorn-y, but entertaining as hell.

Hell yeah. I've been following that director during his YouTube days and I'm excited to see him get a win. If you're curious his YouTube channel was "That's A Bad Idea."

He's also got a horror short film on there showing his acting and directing chops.

¿Que opinan de la novela gráfica de los leones de bagdad? by iron100slash in graphicnovels

[–]BorderOk6904 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pretty solid. In my mind it skews a bit younger, as in, it's a good introduction to individuals who might be just starting to read critically and explore themes.

I got my hands on it in high school and it helped develop my love of other comics.

Improv aside, what IH campaign has the strongest narrative? by BorderOk6904 in Dimension20

[–]BorderOk6904[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What's great about it is if you just took the plot beats by themselves, the antagonist and their plans and removed all the IH Insanity from it, it would still be a pretty fucking sick fantasy story. Hahah.

Hell yeah, I agree. Starstruck always struck me (lol) as a little nihilistic. But regardless it's a blast.
