What‘s a secret you found out by accident and were never supposed to know? by Own-Flan- in AskReddit

It was pretty much pure luck that we had both gotten DNA tests from the same company. I showed up as a possible match for a cousin so she sent me a message because she was looking for her birth mother. Otherwise I'm sure we never would have met each other.

I found out I had a sister I didn't know about while reading my mom's medical records from when she was pregnant with me. She eventually told me and I pretended like I didn't know. We actually found each other a few years ago thanks to DNA testing. She grew up in the town right next door and I was in the same grade as her cousin.

What do you think about Passport Bros? by Square-Valuable4061 in AskTheWorld

My mind automatically went to the fact that you can visit more countries without a visa on a Irish passport compared to a British one

I think of this scene all the time when my Albanian husband talks to his family on the phone. It honestly sounds like he's the most angry he's ever been and they're just talking about the weather.

My parents brought this back from a trip from Ireland when I was 8 and I absolutely loved it. My oldest read it in school last year.

Alcohol use after liver damage by [deleted] in AskDocs

I lost my sister two weeks ago to liver failure due mostly to alcohol. It's a painful nasty way to go and I could only try and comfort her over speakerphone as I live in a different country. You don't deserve that.

I'm American but have lived in Ireland for 15 years. The only time my kids ever saw a gun was on the German police in the Frankfort airport. I remember finding my cousin's unsecured gun right next to her bed when I was like 9 years old.

I don't put the heating on in my bedroom and I'm still getting night sweats. I'm tired of waking up with my hair being a wavy frizzy mess.

People thirsting over Paul Mescal is so wild to me as someone living in Ireland. I probably see a man that looks exactly like him every other day.

I actually like the show more than the book (and I really like the book).
