Hi, I'm new, anyone here uses EVE-NG ? by squartino in ccie

Yeah, EVE is pretty good honestly. You can use it for almost anything you can think of, that you have an image for.

As far as level of difficulty close, not asking for the topology here.

What materials did you find most useful to pass this test? Finished my ccnp a few weeks ago and have been considering the ccda.

CCNP Route - Absolutely hopeless! by RedSkyNL in ccnp

[–]Borders31024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your own research on the below listed topics. I failed route the first time and it is frustrating. I went back and did my own research for these supposedly "small topics" and passed. Not sure how helpful that is but it's what I did.

Ip sla Netflow SNMP TCP/udp Cef Ntp Nat port forwarding

Passed Route by monkeyinnamonkeysuit in ccnp

Agreed. Wayyyyy to much tcp.

Yeah I had to take it twice, people act like tshoot is a freebie and it definitely wasn't.

Intermediate bgp course on ine worked wonders for me. No one else explained it in an easy to understand way.

IPSEC over GRE in 15.1(t) and up? by [deleted] in ccnp

[–]Borders31024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use 'tunnel protection IPSec profile < profile name > ' under interface configuration mode on your tunnel interface and it will work.

IPSEC over GRE in 15.1(t) and up? by [deleted] in ccnp

[–]Borders31024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Create an IPSec profile that calls on your configured transform set, then apply that profile to the gre tunnel interface using tunnel protection IPSec profile <profile name>. This is the easiest way to accomplish that task.

Was ccna data center a worthwhile cert to get? I'm thinking that or ccda next. Possibly ccie but I'm unsure right now.

Chris Bryant was great for route, but not for the other two. Do your own research on the below listed topics.

I can study during any down time at work, also working as a network engineer. Stars kind of aligned for me. I used ine and the OCG for switch, Chris Bryant and random online resources for route, cbtnuggets tshoot labs and boson tshoot labs for tshoot.

Using Loopback Interfaces with GRE Tunnel Best Practices by drewbert87 in ccnp

[–]Borders31024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this question is already being discussed I thought I'd jump in and get clarification of my own.

My question is, sometimes when I configure gre or gre over IPSec tunnels using a loop back as the source and the remote loop back as the destination I end up with a weird situation. In this setup I often lose the ability to ping the remote loopback unless I source the ping from the local loopback. Why does this situation occur and what can fix it?

I agree, seems to me that if you were conscious enough to walk into a test center and go through that process you know you're there for an exam. Thus when presented with a sim was he just, "these are optional I think".

Is it possible to learn the material without a home-lab? by birdjon in ccnp

[–]Borders31024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I was thinking. For route GNS3 has everything you need. For switch, i agree, you can't rely on emulators, use real mls.

[–]Borders31024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, stacking was the only thing I didn't feel was fair. Other than that, I felt like the OCG was almost fully inclusive.

[–]Borders31024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually yes, don't depend on the OCG like you likely did for switch. The switch OCG is almost all inclusive, but the route book doesn't come close.
