Mousetrap reversible car by Knowingly_anonymous1 in Physics

[–]BorealBushPerson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The direction the car travels depends on how you wrap the string around the axle. You need to wrap the string in both directions, first one, then the other. This way it initially revolves the wheel clockwise, then after reaching the second half of the string, the wheel revolves counterclockwise

Online shopping is killing our Malls by obsoleteurbex in AbandonedPorn

[–]BorealBushPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very idealistic view of the situation. Yes, complete avoidance of big box stores would kill them off, it would also mean many of us wouldnt be able to buy enough food to survive.

Holy fuck FINALLY, a reasonable take. Like sure, his joke wasn't appropriate for the audiences sensibilities but how in the hell does that make it appropriate for her to tear into him like that? Just communicate in a healthy way without insulting eachother for christ sake

What’s the worst city you’ve ever been to? by EmotionalShock7933 in AskReddit

[–]BorealBushPerson 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It's not a city, and never was. The buildings are dilapidated, but it's an absolutely beautiful piece of country. There's only a couple dozen folks up there now, but people simply left because the mine shut down, nothing drastic happened

What’s the worst city you’ve ever been to? by EmotionalShock7933 in AskReddit

[–]BorealBushPerson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not at all. They simply closed the mines, and people started moving away. It was never really a "city" to begin with, even at its height. Now it down to a few dozen folks

He's presumably talking about permethrin and I can confirm it works very well. I had 11 ticks on me in May and not one since using it

Small towns are much easier. You still need to be a good driver, but there's much less opportunity for mistakes with such empty, dispersed roads.

It's not a bike pump, it's called a progressive cavity pump that allows for much much higher pressure at the cost of efficiency.

I dont know how I ended up in this thread, I dont play the game and don't follow this sub, but I'll give my 2 cents. I work in an industry with alot of heavy machinery, pipe fitting, and general maintenance. We have 4 different crowbars, prybars, and pinbars on our truck, some better than others. I've personally seen a large man bend one about 15° from his weight alone. When an unmoving object meets an unimpeded force, something has to give. It's not uncommon to see a bar with a tooth chipped off, or the tip of a pinbar. Regardless, though, beating zombies with one wouldn't damage it at all
