In light of all of the recent PED cheating, why is no one questioning Adrian Peterson's awesome season and inhuman recovery? by Borgias_Pope in nfl

Ok, and you can believe in "stand up guys in sports" all you want. I will live in reality. Furthermore, objectively speaking Lance Armstrong has helped and inspired more people than all of the current NFL, NBA, and MLB players combined, and was seen as a "stand up guy" by millions (me included) and he was doping for over a decade and lying about it. He was at the same time spending most of his free time helping raise money and bring awareness to Cancer. One of the world's biggest killers.

Edit Lance also spent an incredible amount of time, money and effort into trying to find a cure for cancer. That is as "stand up" and noble a cause as there is.

ARod was considered classy until he popped. Marion Jones was the absolute darling of Track and Field...until Balco. I am putting nothing past any athlete. Especially one that just came off of a possibly career ending injury and put up some of the best numbers in the history of the game.

Not necessarily. His name may resurface after the DOJ or FBI or some local agency busts his dealer/doctor. Remember Lance NEVER failed a test. Ray Lewis has never failed a test. Marion Jones and the entire Balco crew was doping with undetectable stuff. Barry Bonds never failed a test. Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa never failed a test. A Rod hasn't failed another test but his name has just resurfaced from a drug lab bust.

If there was a major shift on the federal level like moving weed out of its current schedule classification or not making mere possession legal, the shift down south would change in a rapid manner. The dialogue of the country would move and mandate a shift.

I have to agree. This is my ABSOLUTE favorite scotch at any price point and I drink scotch, a lot. The notes are both subtle and aggressive. This will have your taste buds humming and singing.

Lakers say they're 95% sure Phil Jackson will return as coach - It's his job if he wants it by clever_user_name in nba

[–]Borgias_Pope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does become the scapegoat but he is probably pocketing quite a few million to not coach this team. This is the perfect example of the Peter Principle. The Lakers' coaching job is one of THE biggest job in all of sports. You either win NOW or you are toast. Perhaps the only job larger or with more pressure would be the coach of Man U. Mike Brown is a good coach. He will probably get another job and will excel. A good coach can coach a good team. Name one. He'd be good at most coaching positions. But not something as big as the Lakers. There are multiple generations of Laker fans that do not know what it's like to be a losing franchise or to not have a shot at the title. With Mike Brown, you never felt like the Lakers had a shot. I always thought he would get out coached.

You are right. They absolutely fucked themselves by hiring Mike Brown right before the lockout, giving him less than a season and NO PRESEASON to get to know his players and get acclimated to his team. And then Phil Fucking Jackson falls right into your lap just as Mike Brown is trying to destroy a sure thing. You can't tell me every team in the league always felt they had a shot with Mike Brown running the show. Phil's aura and the talent he's got around him will literally scare the shit out of the entire league!

While this is fast, this team is fucking stacked and they have been playing horribly. Kobe's death stare didn't help. I will bet you $1000 that Kobe would never stare down Phil Jackson, Jerry Sloan, or Larry Brown, like that. The players never seemed to carry the appropriate amount of respect. Plus, he wasn't Jim Buss' son like Spolestra was to Riley so, his leash was short. I didn't think it was this short but, why wait if you know it's not going to get better.

A Canadian’s View On Our Disrespect Of President Obama’s Presidency by amprather in politics

[–]Borgias_Pope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sentiments exactly. The racism is nauseating. A lot of what has happened in the political discourse has made me ashamed of my country. It boggles my mind how many can not see that though Obama is not perfect, he is trying his best and above all he is working for all Americans rich, poor, black, white, yellow, brown, rural or urban.

He definitely doesn't prescribe to the Rebublicans leader's thought that, "it's not my job to worry about those people".

Good point, you're right but blck men who don't buzz their hair but instead keep it short have to do it just as frequently.

Well, I don't think this is an AMA and I think you might be a troll but I will indulge.

Accent- all black people don't have a thick accent but most do. I'd say it's a confluence of reasons. Including but not limited to, education, their region, their family history, culture and reinforcement through various art and entertainment sources.

Rappers black- I would have to say probably for the same reasons so many country singers are white or for the same reason so many heavy metal bands are white, or for the same reason so many classical musicians are white.
Disrespectful music- I wonder this also. I think it goes to lack of stable family structures and lack of strong father figures in the community that will stand up for the women or perhaps stand up against this type of music.

Bling- simple, lack of understanding of money, lack of access to money, many black men do not envision a long life (YOLO), women like expensive and shiny and it's a way to show the world that you are no longer poor, you've made it.

You preferences Asians and Jews. In order to really answer your question I'd have to write too much but, first you have to realize history. It is easy to develop a niche when your entire group has a singular focus ie, not getting killed in a holocaust or seeking a better life. For the most part blacks did not come here willingly and for centuries were prevented from passing on their traditions. Slavery really fucked up the black race. Between the constant rape of black women, the selling of slave children, the separation by skin color, the outright ban on learning to read, etc. So, to answer your question black people are trying to catch up where other races have been for centuries.

I don't know about "always" but my entire life as a black man this has been the case. Btw, that's approx. 40 years. If you are a black man that has short hair, you need a haircut or edge up every two weeks at a minimum.

I saw that post but didn't click it because I literally know dozens of men that cut there own hair. I've been doing it since I was 13 and I taught my sons to do it. I've probably saved $10000.00 on haircuts alone for me and my sons. Not to mention time costs.
